Am I the only one here who likes Yoko Ono ? -

I think she was great in the movie Rock N Roll Circus too...she safed the film from disaster.

- Clapton, Keith and Lennon (Dirty Mac) were playing boring traditional, mediocre blues jams - and Yoko was going over the top mad and making it unique and different. She made the movie special.
I think Yoko was the greatest thing that ever happened to the Beatles.

Yes...and probably the only person left on the planet who likes her. What do you like about her?

I respect Yoko. A cutting edge artist well before she met Beatle John. And while, I can't say I always like her singing, she really was innovative as well. And her and John finally found a great vibe on his last song he worked on with her.

She really was a punk at heart and influenced a lot of New York Punks.

Probably yes : as a solo conceptual artist (in the 1960's) she was laughable. As a Lennon muse (in the 1970's) she was parasitic...

Yoko, perhaps the most misunderstood and/or hated woman in the history of popular music. Honestly I don't know what to feel for her. John loved her, that must count for something.

That was Yoko on R&R Circus? I thought somebody was raping a mountain lion with a gas powered dildo... in the key of E.

Bringing that bed into Twickenham Studios while The Beatles were recording wasn't the coolest idea in the world.

You can't possibly like that kack?

If she hadn't married Lennon she would have been a nobody or found someone else to leech off.

Did you ever see that Lennon/Berry tv spot where she made intermittent screeching noises whilse wolloping a bongo?

That is NOT art... it's arse.

That's nice.

Yoko's bit could have been done by any OAP though.

I've got tapes of my Nan singing like that.

She hasn't been exactly a "nobody" before meeting John Lennon. She has been performing in art and music since the mid 50's.

One of her most famous performance was "Cut":

I think it sums up quite well what's her intention in art : to make people react and take part to the performance.

Obviously she achieved this aim with her music too.

Recently she had a retrospective exhibition in London : [www.huffingtonpost.co.uk]
