Since some have GA and some have TBA, I'd guess it's a specific distinction.

How about Chicago?

Chicago's not on sale yet. Keep an eye on the Stones Facebook page.

Thanks, so much! Left to my own devices, I propably would have been shut out. Instead, I have 2 for May 28, GA2...I've never seen them indoors, I can't wait!

Cheers,
Bobby

So assuming GA1,GA2, etc are just place holders, does that mean that each ticket bought already has a specific corresponding seat reserved? Or will the actual seats only be decided right before the show?

The truth is that we really won't know until our friends on the west coast see them on the 5th..

Don't see why they would be allocated now.

I hope they have a god mix, some people are going to be in for a terrific surprise and show in the pit (made it there on the 25th at the O2) and others not so lucky, well they'll still get to see the Stones for a price that can't be beat!

I hope they do the same for Philadelphia and Boston, but I have a feeling now that the cats out of the bag about these $85 tickets, it will be harder to get them for the remaining shows.

@Alfonz - StonesDoug (Shidoobee) and others have states that the GA and numbers means nothing. I am willing to bet that they are correct, but I still think it is interesting that there are actual seat designations for the $78 tickets. Checkout SanJose...

But did anyone got tickets by selecting those specific designations (as opposed to just best available)? I tried to select some of those options for Toronto (admittedly not the "worst" options), but it said "no tickets available". Afterwards I selected best available and there were still tickets left.

I've tried reading through threads on a few forums, but I can't see anyone post that they selected anything other than best available.

Just be ON IT lb,

Most folks "out there" dont "get it" and will go through TM direct. Go through the Stones website and you are in. Just do the right thing at the right moment.

I pulled the $85's 3 or 4 times for TO on the 31st just to see how the process worked. Everytime they came up though it was after leaving the default option of "Best Available" selected. I tried the dropdown option for the General Admission Floor (no PIT option for TO) and could never pull the tixc this way. I am jonesin for a pit experience though and Boston is closer for me...although it may have been cheaper for me to fly to TO with an $85 pair of tix! Time will tell. Great news that so many folks are able to get a hold of these tickets though. The Stones are really trying to accomodate everyone in my opinion...they are definitely on the money with the marketing machine.

I hope you're right Max. I'm more worried that I'll get nervous and click the wrong button, especially if I have to try this at work again. Think I better come down with a bad cold that morning...cough, cough....winking smiley

You have to wonder why they even have a "pull down" list since the $85 tickets will be allocated by a lottery on the day of the event.

Was at work today so had no chance of even trying for the $85 seats. If any gracious kind soul is willing to sell me one for a reasonable price I would kiss your feet and buy you tons of beers.

Congrats to all who got some! You must be pumped!!!

I was on an airplane, and so as to not break FAA rules I chose not to use my cell phone as a wireless hotspot to generate an internet connection on my laptop.

I wimped out.

Do we know this for sure? So as it stands right now everyone with $85 tickets are essentially the same?

I don't think we'll know for sure until the first show, if/when people report if their numbers seemed to make
any difference.

Thanks again to The Rolling Stones for this chance!!! I was gonna pull a regular ticket and I couldn't find
any I liked. I have these two and am pretty pumped that I got to return a favor to a wonderful Stones pal.

I am happy for all who pulled the 85$ tickets.

And the biggest surprise will be your seating or standing.
So this is getting exciting for all of you.
Just great.

oakland turned out a different ticket than the san jose option..

Oakland : section GA7
row GA2
seats 31-32[ /b]

San Jose : sectiion GA no other info provided.

not sure if this indicates seating in the arena for the Oakland show and maybe PIT for san jose. either way cannot wait to hit the road from down in oz and make my way to sunny california for these shows....

Updated info:

USA & Canada tour tickets on sale at 10am, including over 1000 $85 tickets per show

Tickets for the Rolling Stones’ 50 & Counting US and Canada tour go on sale at 10am local time here.

As a part of the general on sale, there is something for everyone, including over a 1,000 tickets per show at $85 (including service charges). Some will be among the best seats in the house in the Tongue Pit, with others spread around the arena. Tickets will be sold as a pair. You will find out your seat location when you pick them up the night of the show. Other tickets range from $150- $600(plus service charges).

We will be using strict anti-scalper measures to ensure that these $85 tickets go to Stones fans and don’t end up on the resale market with wildly inflated prices. We appreciate your attention to the following, so that you have the best experience possible:

· You must pick up your tickets in person, along with your guest. Once you have the tickets in hand, you will be escorted into the arena. There will not be an opportunity to leave with your tickets before going into the show.

· Picture ID, your confirmation number, and the credit card used to make the purchase are required for pick-up. Without these things, you will not be able to pick up your tickets.

If we suspect any reselling or transfer of these tickets they will be immediately voided and you will not be entitled to any refund.

Very good to hear and read this. They really thought about it very seriously.
Thanks guys!
And to all who got the tickets: thumbs upsmileys with beerspinning smiley sticking its tongue out

My wife occasionally works for a venue that uses Ticketmaster so she's familiar with their ticketing software. Basically, she said this situation seems as follows...

Let's say they have 1,000 tickets for the $85 price. What they do is place a hold on that amount of tickets and create a completely separate "show" in the system for that block of tickets. This is also why they were on their own page and not part of the dropdown menu on the general on-sale.

That being said, for the separate "show" that has been created, all the TM system knows is how many tickets are available, not where the seats are. As far as its concerned, its a block of GA tickets (and by GA I dont mean PIT).

Therefore, the section/row/seat that is showing for your tickets really is just a placeholder and does not correspond with any particular section of seating.

There are a few different ways they can determine the seats. It could be completely random, it could be first-com, first-serve for the "best" seats. Most likely, it will be completely random.

===========================================

Cliff notes:

The seat locations showing on our receipts are absolutely nothing more than placeholders.
