Sad to say that they have to take these measures. Cheap tickets meant to say thank you to loyal fans would otherwise be bought up by scalpers and sold for thousands.

I wonder if the first few rows will all be $85?

Still what does a "loyal fan" has to do with low ticket prices?
So I am not loyal because I can scratch out more than 85 bucks$?

I think one should stop with such filthy arguments. It's the same as the band was better with M. Taylor or B. Jones which hardly anybody as seen on stage on this forum.

Once again I am very happy for those who scored such tickets and I wish them good seats in the house. But I am also happy for those who shell out much more and have the right for a guaranteed seat or Pit.

Take a chill pill.

No one is saying anything about fans who can shell out loads of dosh not being loyal. Just that there are many fans who can't afford to see the stones who will now be able to. This can only be a good thing because recent tours have priced out much of the stones younger fanbase, meaning the audience mainly comprised baby boomers and rich businessmen. That is not a comment on any particular person but an observation of tours since Licks, at least in the UK. I have nothing against those people attending gigs but I would like other people to attend too.

Now the stones are saying that for people who can't afford to go, there are these low price seats and they are taking measures to make sure it is the fans and not scalpers who benefit.

I cannot see anything bad in this. I know my views about opening up shows to a wider audience are unpopular here but I don't really care. I'm entitled to an opinion and won't be bullied for it.

In any case, my original comment was that loyal fans should benefit from low price tickets as opposed to scalpers. Sorry if that argument is too filthy for you.

If there's such a thing as a loyal fan then what is a disloyal fan?

I am happy for all who have scored such tickets, but I hope you have read the restrictions as follows:

Rollingstones.com Offer (Click ? for Important Restrictions)
Over 1000 $85 seats available in the pit and throughout the arena. Strict anti-scalper measures will ensure that the tickets go to Stones fans and not the resale market. Sold only in pairs with seat location revealed night-of-show. Pick-up tickets night of show only, in person, with Picture ID, confirmation number, and the credit card used at purchase. Once you have the tickets in hand, you will be escorted into the arena. Any reselling or transfer of these tickets will void them with no refund.

Just be sure that you know about it.

Didnt they actually make all that quite clear, it wasnt like they were trying to trick people. They are helping some people out by allowing them in the show for 1/2 to 1/10 the regular price and they will NOT allow any of those people to make a profit on it.... why should they?

you have to remember it is a business ,that means the stones just like everybody else is trying to make a profit ,not run a charity with giveaways and freebies .this stuff about affordable tickets started in 1999 with the no security tour of arenas ,it all sounds good about affordable tickets .good luck trying to get the cheap tickets .do i like paying thru the nose ? of course not ,but what are you going to do ? dig deep and pay thru the nose .after all this could be the last time (no pun intended )with there collective age as a group,it's like see them when you can .i am having to make a personal sacrifice in order to give myself a chance to see the glimmers again .nothing is guarented of course but i have my fingers crossed that i can go to boston or philly or both .i will know soon enough.

Thanks for sharing this. The conditions were quite clear to me when I bought my tickets. It will be interesting to see where the seats are once I have tickets in hand. Could be the best, the worst or any seat in between but no matter where they are it'll be really cool to see Mick Taylor play with the Rolling Stones...

Being this is a publicity deal, I am betting most of the seats will be pretty good.... I really wish I was in on this "not knowing" where the seats are, hoping for good luck Christmas presents deal...... how exciting!!!.... something to hope for, look forward to.

One time for the World Series, I needed last minute tickets to take a gal I just met, and had told her "Of course Ihave World Series tickets, wanna go?" and... I had to scramble.... and boring boring.. boring boring.... boring boring... so my one friend had a connetion..... boring boring... but he oredere me that at the game, if anyone asked, I had to tell his friend that he couldnt make it to the game, and to make sure they knew he didnt scalp the tickets....

so this is my first date with my gal... and we are at the game... and we are walking all the way out to what are "OK seats" (1/2-3/4 the way to the outfield) seats where we meet his friend who says "who are you?"... and I explain.... and his friend says... "Tonight we want sit out here with our buddies, so you have to take our seats, OK?.... so... This was all afvor situation, I was juts happy to be there... so

I said "OK"... and his friend handed our "new" tickets to the usher(who she knew) and who walked us back up... and started walking us back around totthe middle.... and I am hoping for the best (but will take what I am given)... and then the usher turned at section 100, and headed down, right behind homeplate... and walked us down to 10 rows off the field. It was so cool...

So, are we to assume that since the links to the $85 specials remain open that the gods will release some more from time to time? I keep checking for Chicago.

Hope springs eternal.

Actually I just got a refund for my two tickets to June 3rd.. So yes, you will find tickets trickle out. I'd keep checking if I were you. Pure luck at this point, but who knows... They might release another wave of seats if all the $600 seats do not sell out.
?

Oh man, I bet you will live to regret giving those back.
You will see them twice, and you will know they are playing again, and the only thing better than 2 in a row Stones is 3 in a row... and knowing that you had cheap tickets? And you gave them back> Uh oh.

I predict shows in Nashville/Atlanta/New Orleans/Tampa/Dallas, etc... So going to two shows in Chicago is great. Going to some shows in the fall where they MIGHT have changed up the setlist SLIGHTLY, could be great too. Regardless, I'm doing the lottery tickets all the way as long as they are offered.

All I've got to say is that I'm very grateful for a chance to see the Stones for only around $170 for a pair of tickets. I'm pretty young and was very turned off when I initially saw the ticket prices. Knowing that they dumped Bill Graham for a relatively small amount of money and seeing their logo become such a symbol for corporate rock, I was really bummed out to see such a wealthy band charge so much for tickets.

But, when I saw this announced I was super excited and don't really care how many hoops I have to jump through whenever I get there. It will be awesome, even if we're in the nosebleed seats.

something happened to me yesterday-

well a couple of days ago actually,i was looking at tickets during the general sale and i clicked on the $85 tickets and a pair came up for oakland.

i really didnt expect them to come up but i was thinking well,i'll have to fly an hour up to the bay and miss work monday but no big thing it'll still be a good deal so what the hell, then when i was getting ready to buy them a thought occured to me-

i can afford vegas or la if i want.i remembered years ago being a kid who's wardrobe consisted of two pairs of jeans,a pair of chuck taylors and a few concert shirts who had to scrape the money together to see the 75 tour.

if i throw them back maybe....CLICK ,hope whoever got em has a good time.

these stones tours do some funny things to our heads dont they..

Cool story that. I had a similar experience at the last Giants game at Candlestick Park. Not the World Series mind, but grand fun!

Thanks Chris. I bet you wind up with great seats for your show,
just keep thinking positive thoughts, positive waves man... it works.

psssst (I would try to arrive at the 1/4 mark, dont get there first/early, dont
get there last/late.... try to arrive after 1/4 of the $85.00 people have) just a hunch.

AND..... smile at them (but heck, that is always a good idea)

Oh I'd be pretty sure they are together...that's a can of worms they wouldn't even think of opening. It'd make Altamont look like a Disney adventure ride.

I've been reading the thread and it looks like most people chose "best available" to get the $85 tickets; however, no one has mentioned what they did with the second drop down menu. Quick question: What did you choose on the pricing option?

Currently, there are three drop down menus:

1. Quantity: Options are 0 or 2
2. Price: Options are "Any Price" or "$85"
3. Section: Several Options

What did everyone choose for Price?

Also, to everyone who got $85 tickets, were you able to get tickets on the very first search after you changed the section to "best available," or were you ever denied? Denied meaning: you received a "tickets are no longer available" notice and you had to start over. If that was the case, did you receive the tickets on your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th try?

Thanks. Also, very happy to everyone who got these tickets, that is awesome.

I believe the idea of these tickets was for someone( a fan) to purchase a pair of tickets for themselves and a guest at a good price. I don't think it was meant to buy extra tickets or tickets to sell to seven of your buddies for $85(or more). I wish the best for people trying to beat the system but I hope they stick to the rules.

Pick up your tickets in person, along with you guest.

Have your picture ID, your confirmation number, and the credit card used to make the purchase.

You guys are making this more complicated than it is.

I am not trying to beat the system or sell tickets to my friends, Im just trying to see the stones with my family, and we cant afford anything more expensive. You saying "I hope they stick to the rules" is like saying "I hope you show up with your family and get screwed out of 350$ worth of tickets"...just keep that in mind. I like the debate on here(good way to pass some time), but wishing negativity on the multiple people that already posted saying they grabbed a couple pairs is the kind of stuff I dont like. We are all fans here, and like you said, I hope we all wish each other the best.

Anyway...Im going prepared, Ive got screenshots printed of the dropdown menu page that clearly says 8 ticket limit under the rollingstones.com offer, and I have a customer service phone call reference number of when I called ticketmaster and got confirmation that it was ok to buy multiple sets, so long as we are okay not sitting together, and dont go over the 8 ticket per household limit. And fortunately 5 of the 6 people in our party have the same last name on our drivers licenses.

Ive been fortunate enough to see the stones twice already at the big outdoor venues which are a cool spectacle, but Im looking forward to a little different dynamic in the smaller arenas. Good luck to everyone in the 85$ seating lottery, I have a feeling they will make everyone pretty happy. They should have made an 85$ section in the arena and just grouped all of us peasants together in a big rowdy party!

@erbissell - I agree with you wholeheartedly and truly wish you well on getting everyone in. erbissell is not wishing ill on you, only that the rules stay so that scalpers cannot do what you are doing.

We, all fans here, want all fans to get in. BUT, keep in mind that what you are doing is what we all want scalpers NOT to do. You can't take each person in as your guest, and you bought all the tickets. Ergo, scalpers can take this tactic, buy 8 total tickets, sell 7, then walk in and enjoy the show.

Again, I truly wish the best for you and your family!! I considered doing the same but instead told everyone to go purchase their own tickets so that we would avoid this issue on the day of the show. I am certain you will get in with your folks because you have done your research and a manager at the venue isn't going to be a punk to a nice fan and his family. thumbs up

Response from an inquiry sent to customer_support@ticketmaster.com:

Via Email (Ashley_ZWS527) 04/11/2013 02:30 PM

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any confusion between the offer and the posted ticket limit.

Due to the strict anti-scalping measures the promoter is implementing, the tickets for this particular offer will only be sold in pairs, and limited to two per household. You and your guest will need to arrive at the arena together to pick these tickets up, and will be escorted inside upon arrival.

We hope this helps! If you have any additional questions, just reply to this email or visit Ticketmaster.com, or RollingStones.com/tickets

Sincerely,
Ashley

What show is this for? This is getting extremely frustrating because it seems that everyone is getting conflicting answers. Currently on hold with Ticketmaster to try to get an answer for the May 31, 2013 Chicago show. I have already talked to someone at TM and the United Center, both said eight was the ticket limit for the offer.

I got them on the 'Price' option...I think it comes and goes randomly. T
he day I got them, they were there, then the weren't, then they were back again.

I don't really know if it means anything but I was on Tickemaster.ca and there were no $85 tickets available. I wasn't going to the show. Then Tonyz posted a link here for $85 tickets on Ticketmaster.com. I clicked and sure enough,, $85's on the 'Price' option. I bought them there although I had to change my residency in my profile to US. I went back to Tickemaster.ca to set my profile back...and no $85 tickets were available! Strange...

(I didn't screw the system up by making those changes. I have my receipt/confirmation)

I think you have to check back every once and a while and hope for the best. Truely it seems to be just luck. I'll bet, however, that you'll see more $85 tickets if the expensive seats don't all sell out. I'd keep checking for a while...
