A friend of mine bought a pair of $165's in section 205 the minute they went on sale, and then a pair of $265's in section 217 a bit later.

Well...intersting, thanks for the info. I suppose I better keep checking and hoping...

I just heard from my Mom: (she goes to LV often) she called her contact at MGM and got 2 FREE tickets for booking a room. No word yet on seat location but at that price, who cares?! So if you have a history of gambling and staying at MGM (or one of the partner casinos) I would encourage you to call and see what you can pull before you shell out the cash. Now I just need to have her get 2 more...

That's awesome that MGM is giving free tickets to loyal customers!
My wife and I go to Vegas about once a year and stay across the street from MGM at the Tropicana. Neither of us gamble that much at all, but we joined the "Players Club" anyways. They set us up with a personal host to call for reservations, and we get free three-night stays whenever we go. We usually also get free tickets to whatever comedy show they have there, but we have never gone to one yet. As far as free Stones tickets----haha, not at the Tropicana.

The 10AM Pacific time listed on TM is undoubtably correct.

The good news? The 12 eastern time gives us all an hour to "practice".

Can anyone tell me if Sections 18-21 of the MGM Grand are worth the money or are they behind the Stage? I may have to use Stub Hub to get tickets. Are they reliable?

Thanks.

Ticketmaster lists sections 18 and 19 as Side view and 20 and 21 as rearview.

Stubhub is very reliable but they kill you with fees for that reliability.
The good news is if you get burned by a ticket seller on stubhub they will get you into the show and then get their money back from the seller. Now thats customer service!

The MGM Grand is a great place to see the Stones. Like Mick said at one of the shows:
"You are the best dressed crowd ever"

That was the one and only show I have ever been wearing suit and tie...

So I'll meet BV in the tongue Pit with a tie and a suitsmiling bouncing smiley?
My dresscode has not been defined by my ladycool smiley, but it will be rather simplespinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Don't worry. There's already 408 Stub Hub listings and 88 EBAY listings for Vegas tickets. You just have to talk yourself into opening up your wallet.

Interesting that they write a capacity of 428 persons for the pit.

I wonder if so many will be in. In London it felt pretty loose and you could walk around from the end to the 2nd/3rd row on the sides.

Stay at the Tropicana right across the street for much less $$$.
Recently remodeled...it is very nice, less crowded, and probably half the price.

Quite right. Also, for those of you coming from out of town, try any of the hotels on the east side of the strip. There is a monorail that goes between the hotels. I think it's $5 to ride one way. I'm staying at Bally's for one third the price on the Grand. Plus it's centrally located on the strip. Now for the buzz kill. Prostitution is illegal in Cook County and the police take a dim view on public intoxication. I'd hate to see any of my fellow IORR's miss the concert because they spent the night in jail.

Hairball, email me so we can plan on getting together. First drinks on me! You bought the beers at Neil Young. It's my turn.

Once a time and place is finalized, I'll post on this thread so other IORR's find us.

Rock n Roll!!!

Holy crap Scotty, you have a great memory!

This show in Vegas is a slim possibility for me, as I'll be in Hawaii until May 9th.
It would be crazy (albeit still quite possible), for me to get from L.A. to Vegas on the 10th or 11th.
I'm already missing the Staples show which is no biggie as I'm not too fond of Staples Center, so for now all my chips are on Anaheim.
I already have a reservation at the Ayres Hotel across the street from the Pond, but am waiting anxiously for any ticket info.

With all that said---Vegas is VERY tempting, and I will seriously consider it as MGM is a great venue to see the Stones!
"You got to roll me..." smileys with beer

Have stayed at Tropicana during shows, quite nice & make sure to have a maseusse work on you afterwards!

Here is where the $85 seats may be located. The last few rows behind sections 201 thru 207 do not have a price on the color chart. These are the lowest priced tickets for other acts at this venue. The lower part of section 1 is probably behind the sound board, but the rest of section 1 and all of section 2 and 3 do not seem to be available. Could these be the casino host seats?

According to the RS Site the $85 tickets are scattered throughout the arena and even some tongue pit tickets!

Quoted from the RS site..
"As a part of the general on sale, there is something for everyone, including over a 1,000 tickets per show at $85 (including service charges). Some will be among the best seats in the house in the Tongue Pit, with others spread around the arena. Tickets will be sold as a pair. You will find out your seat location when you pick them up the night of the show. Other tickets range from $150- $600 (plus service charges)."

So they are kinda like lottery tickets! Won't know where you'll be until showtime. I'm being optimistic and figure since I'm going to Vegas for the first time ever I'll have some beginners luck and score some sweet seats.

I'm hoping a few of the people that are going to the 1st 3 shows post where they ended up with the $85 option so we can get an idea of what to expect.

Do you have your ticket yet? Going to Vegas for the 1st time and seeing the Stones.... You WILL have a good time! The last time we went to see the Stones in Vegas had limited view tickets behind the stage, still had a blast. If you are a people watcher, go to the Palms and hang out where the elevators go to the top where the clubs are. They go up sober and come back down in a different frame of mind.Lol

I've seen the Stones in Vegas 3 times, including my wedding night on 11/22/1997. You bet it's gonna be a blast!

cool smileyI've seen 3 maybe 4 shows @ MGM (I'm a little fuzzy, haha) & 1 @ the Hard Rock. The ticket situation down there is always very fluid. On the bridges connecting the hotels & on the walk down to the arena. I bit the bullet & bought a silver hot seat, which actually is a really good spot for me & some physical limitations. 3rd row of sec 115. Given the size of the venue & the casino taking tickets, I didn't want to chance it. I'm coming down from Seattle & taking time off work. I got 3 nights for free @ Paris & used some frequent flyer miles to get cheap air, so I could justify it.There were a shocking amount of tickets up on the ticket service sites prior to any being officially on sale. I feel better about getting the ticket from official outlet. I put 3 songs up on the wish list page: Hand of Fate, Loving Cup & Moonlight Mile. Anything will be good though. 3 weeks & a day to the show! Woo hoo!

The $85 link is taking me to the general sale page. Cleared history, cookies, etc., but still no luck.

Keep trying!
