This is once again from the American office, though, the one the woman yesterday told me didn't have any specific info about UK shows. They seem to be just sending out automatic answers, to the effect that you should get it in time and if not they'll take care of you. Which would be nice if true. But is all this worry necessary???[/quote]

Yes, it appears we are getting conflicting messages. At the very least, they should be able to address it at will call. Still, seems weird that they would wait so long to send them out--maybe it's a way to deter scapling? Either way, looks like a lot of people are going to be dealing with will call the day of the show.

I think it's just incompetence.

And unbelievably, BST just posted on Facebook that the Stones tickets would be going out "no less than 5 to 7 days before the show." This is insane!

Got a barclaycard payband today. Map looks good plus fast track entrance smiling smiley

I got mine too.

I note there's a 'media and guest box office' at the south end of the park behind the main stage. Is that the same place I wonder where all concert attendees are expected to collect any will call tickets?

If so, its at the opposite end of the park from the main entrance, which is on Bayswater Road.

Us foreigners can't get paybands, right? (I'm not actually a foreigner, just overseas.)

I was hoping for fast track entrance with Tier 1 tickets, but forget about that, it seems.

I was told there'll be a will-call desk at the main (north) entrance, another at the Tier 1 & 2 entrance,
and yet another at the disabled-access entrance. I sure hope that's right.

Aha! One at tier 1&2. Good.
So there's somewhat of extra value.
(I'm searching for every positive news concerning my tier 2 tickets).

Thanks for all the info so far.
1. Is a ticket drop still likely? What's the best source for updates on this (after checking iorr.org)?
2. Are tickets actually resellable? Some in the US have claimed there are problems reselling some tix.
3. Does StubHub have a bricks and mortar place near Hyde Park or elsewhere in London?
4. It seems the Stones will perform around 8:30PM. Is there a curfew?
5. The event FAQ indicates SLRs with lenses longer than 6" are not permitted. Seems I need to be concerned about a package check...

The answer to no.4 is yes there is a strict 10.30pm curfew. They've cut people off before, last time being Springsteen last year.

Completely. Since they sold out in four minutes, (OK, I know that's another PR lie but it did sell very quickly), they had all the info they needed to get tickets out two months ago. They've had the money that long.

I bought a pair of tickets two days a go, so they obviously haven't sold out smiling smiley

BST told me yesterday via Twitter:

Hi there, the Rolling Stones tickets are being dispatched this week international special delivery.

Hope they will arrive soon.

Wow, a ticket with a picture. I miss those. Maybe that's why it's taken so long to be dispatched? Will be worth it in my opinion.

Did it say that your payband replaces the ticket?? I have a tier 1 ticket and I just got an e-mail from BST Summertime to say they are sending me a payband that will serve as my entry instead of a paper ticket. Anyone else get the same e-mail?

Sarah! I've just received the same.

And 10 minutes after receiving the e-mail to say I'd be getting a payband that will replace my paper ticket, the paper ticket arrived!

What's going on?! BST Summertime is managing to outdo itself!

Yes, BST also informed me on Facebook that international orders were going out this week by special delivery. I feel strangely heartened by the fact that someone has received an actual ticket! But trying not to get my hopes up.

I don't wish to sound very stupid here .... (well no more stupid than normal that is) ..... but what the f**k actually IS this Barclaycard payband thing ? Is it a ticket ? Is it not a ticket ? Is it a "replacement" of sorts for a paper ticket ? Some people appear to have received an e-mail inviting them to apply for it, others not ? There doesn't appear to any consistency with regard to what is going on ?

WHAT THE F**K ?

[ I want to shout, but I can hardly speak ]

i believe it was when tickets were bought through the BST website (at least in the uk) there was an option to sign up to be notified of when these would be availabe to order. Recieved email a couple of weeks ago notifying me that i could order one and that they were being dispatched from 11th june to 30th june. No indication that it would replace my paper ticket though. However there is a lanyard enclosed with it that shows a map of Hyde Park and indeed there will be a fast track entrance for those with paybands

The e-mail I got this morning was not an invitation to apply for a payband. It was an e-mail telling me I would receive a payband that would replace my paper ticket. Then 10 minutes later, the paper ticket arrived in the post by special delivery. So now I will wait and see if any payband arrives.

Did anyone who does NOT have a tier 1 ticket get an e-mail saying they'd get a payband that would replace the paper ticket? Because maybe it's the case that these payband tickets are for tier 1 only??

Its not a ticket. You still need a ticket to get into the festival.

Its a sort of fast track entry thing which also gives you access to facilities (ie a bar) where you can use the payband to pay for goods up to the value of £20 per transaction. Its a glorified debit card for getting a round of drink, basically. With shorter queues.

Nope. The e-mail I got says it IS a ticket:

"As you’re an exclusive Tier 1 Barclaycard Unwind Backstage Bar guest, you’ll receive an equally exclusive ticket - your Barclaycard PayBand. This will act as your entry, rather than a standard paper ticket."

Also, it appears that the system does not know that I got a refund for the Unwind Backstage Bar...spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

It clearly states that it does NOT replace the ticket. I have a tier 3 ticket ordered from Ticketmaster which I assume will arrive very soon. This payband was sent from a Barclays office.

I presume yours is different because you bought a Tier 1 ticket which is itself part of a Barclaycard package.
