Iceland : today, nice winter weather plus 2 degrees celsius, forecast for tomorrow minus 7 degrees ( uff...) . had a nice morning, visiting the elderly home, strumming and singing with the old people. my salary was a nice meal, classical traditional icelandic christmas food, "hanging" smoked lamb. Happy christmas
Supposed to be in the 70's for the next few days here in Knoxville, TN. Although I'm loving it, our local ski resort has been forced to close it's slopes and has requested that anyone with a connection to any "higher powers" put in a request for some cold weather. Personally I'm sending Heatmiser a thank-you card and hoping he'll keep up the good work!
Only 87 days until the Spring Equinox (NH) and it can't get here soon enough as far as I'm concerned
Cold and rainy in San Diego, California. Low temps in the 40s, highs in the low 70s, snow expected in our local mountains on Christmas. Time to switch from flipflops to Ugg boots. Expecting El Nino storms now for the next couple of months.
Getting up towards the low 70's here today and tomorrow with rain throughout the day, but no complaints from me either. Gonna spend the day tomorrow with family in my favorite place...wishing the same for all of you.
Quote Green Lady Storm Eva is due on Christmas Eva, ha ha. Not funny for the poor people in Cumbria who have been flooded on and off ever since Storm Desmond.
So it's not just The Weather Channel that is naming fall/winter storms that are just... frontal systems?

Kent Island, Maryland
I thought that was a current map of Britain for a minute there.............

Nope, it's a little island in Chesapeake Bay. It's where my siblings live and where I spent my childhood. God's country is what the locals call it, and I have to agree.
I live just outside Leeds in the uk ...it seems like it has been rain and floods since the start of November. Today was slightly chillier than previous days hitting a low of 8 but still way too mild for December. I'm usually envious of those in New YOrk as they always seem to have heavy snow and freezing weather at Xmas, but it's looking like we are all cursed by El Nino this winter.
The joy of winter in the northern of The Netherlands...................( I will not show you the accidents and all the cars that end up in the canals )
Yep, finally winter over here. -14C today. And some snow! When I was a kid winter started in late October. Now it looks like it's postponed till January...
Same here - bitterly cold today, down in the low teens, with high winds. Froze my keister off just walking into work...been drinking tea every since to try to warm my bones.
The first heavy rainfall in years is happening here in Southern California - it's been so long I almost forgot what rain is! Weather forecasts for the next five days are saying back to back to back storms rolling through with heavy amounts of rain.
