That earth site is cool because of the ease with going around the planet. The other one offers a bit more but the wind one is very detailed... with wind!

A lot ruined homes in Louisiana thanks to the tropical depression that wasn't a tropical depression last month. A majority of people didn't have flood insurance - because where they lived it's not flooded in recorded history to anyone's knowledge. Not much national news coverage - it didn't fit their need apparently. If it's not New York flooding or California burning it doesn't matter seems to be the point of view.

Some people are saying that Hurricane Hermine weakened due to climate change induced cooling (even though water temperatures are in the upper 80s to low 90s along the Gulf Coast).

A lot of wind shear this hurricane season. So far, anyway.

Here we go again: the Atlantic storm season kicks off this weekend with Angus providing a wet and windy night in London and a batch of mini-tornadoes in Wales. Still to come:

Stay safe. warm, and dry, Green Lady! (ps - browsing the storm list, I see my name is on it for the first time - not sure whether to hope it's wild or mild winking smiley )

Here in Vegas, the temps abruptly dropped 20-30°F his week, but crept back up to the 60s during the day and 50s at night, which is like San Francisco weather--which is what I'm more used to. This will be my first fall/winter here. It's super nice!

Same here in the DC area, dropped from the high 60's to the low 40's in just a few hours with wind gusts of 50 mph...here comes winter.

Here in Ventura County, CA, we're due for a slight sprinkle this afternoon...maybe 1/2 inch max.
Clouds are currently moving in and look slightly daunting, but should amount to barely anything.
Temps have dropped a bit the last week or so (highs 66F daytime, 50F at night apprx.), but still in shorts and t-shirts during daytime, with a flannel and jeans in the evening maybe.
After today's 'threatening' weather, the extended 10 day forecast calls for sunny skies with temps remaining the same as mentioned above.
We've been having very large surf the last week or so, but that will all be gone by tomorrow evening.

A glorious 18' on Friday, sat outside enjoying it for hours. Just looked up from the paper now and...it's bloody snowing. I don't think I'm actually Canadian, I hate this sh*t. There shall be 4 months of whisky and loud music, when I next open the blinds it better bloody be over! [Grumble]
