Here’s a way to end with a bang: The season finale for the sketch comedy show
“Saturday Night Live” will be hosted by Rolling Stones frontman and rock icon Mick
Jagger on May 19. The legendary band, which will also be the musical guest, is
celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
(Addendum: If it was on the net, it seems to be gone now. Perhaps released before
the embargo time and then withdrawn? But Claudine Zap is indeed the name of a
writer for Yahoo news)
Not to mention the fact that all these online blogs just steal their info from the Stones sites anyway. So they're basicly telling us what we already told them.Quote

With all due respect - we all are able to go to StonesDoug's site and read this stuff for ourselves. And Doug is good, very good indeed.
That said, IORR has its own insiders (Gazza, BV, Teddy and a few others who DO have the inside track but refrain from running around, waving a flag and hollering I KNOW WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN NEXT!).
Can't we just leave Doug's info at Doug's place and our info at IORR?
Just suggestin'; just sayin'.

Well I've been lurking around this board for oh..maybe five years now. Love this place and never felt the need to chime in with my opinion. There were posts that I agreed with and posts that I didn't. I've laughed at some of the most ridiculous threads imaginable and have been in awe of the depth of knowledge some of you possess. By coming here I've learned a lot about the band I've loved since 1964. Now I can't stay quiet any longer. This whole SNL thing is insane. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing won't be known until we see which band Mick Jagger stands in front of next Saturday Night. If it is indeed the Rolling Stones kicking off the 50th anniversary, then it will go down as another legendary Rolling Stones PR move.
It's already heading in that direction. All you have to do is read this thread to see how we're being whipped into a frenzy of speculation which is kind of cool and reminds me of flat beds, blimps, trains and convertible Cadillacs. It gives me chills just thinking about the possibility that someone will look into a camera next Saturday night and say "Ladies and Gentlemen the Rolling Stones." That will be the good thing. But if Mick fronts Arcade Fire or Dave Grohl and the rest of the Stones are nowhere to be seen....wait I'm going to stay positive. Surely, with all of them in NYC along with Mick Taylor, surely they're going to gather at 30
Rock next Saturday night. If Mick insists on trying to stay "relevant" by fronting Grohl or Arcade Fire then....no I'm going to stay positive. Damn it's going to be a long week.

Why do so many people on this site insist on telling so many other people what the hell they can and can not post? as long as it does not break bv's established rules LET PEOPLE POST WHAT THEY WANT!! as long as someone reports the source, what is the issue?
For the record, revvy... I dont read those other Stones sites... so as far as I am concerned please feel free to repost what they might say, esp if it has not been said here... and post whatever the hell else you want to also.... if I want to read it I will... if I dont.. I will skip it... as I do most of your rhishana info.
Why would anyone stifle information?.... who cares if it is a circle jerk, god knows there is enough circle jerking going as it is , a little more wont hurt... Let people post what hey want!!
There is getting to be too many Bossy Bettys and Grumpy Grannys around here.

What is the point of the Stones rehearsing in NY if they are not doing the SNL gig. Very bizarre, imo.
Only with God and the Rolling Stones are all things possible.
You obviously have not noticed there is no 'God'.

Once again superevvy takes quick shots and personal attacks.
I have requested that this message be deleted along with superevvy's account.
I have also asked for my account to be deleted.
Before anyone makes a crack about taking all this too seriously think about this for a moment. The threads and messages were and should be about the Rolling Stones. Not personal attacks, etc.
Enjoy yourselves.
Rogue, there is no need for you to delete your account. I haven't noticed a post from you that breaks any rule
Obviously no rhino skin involved there.
Chris, is this just your opinion or do you know something we don't?Quote
