He said the mix was different. More guitars, less bass.

Hampton 81 , what a bad choice, it's the same shows that we have in the
Hal Ashby movie" Let's spend the night together" and in the Swingin' Pigs boxes
ref tsp cd 100.2.
Jagger doesn't sing, just shout...
I hope it's just a rumor, if not, i don't load this show, never .

No nothing on either. And android's page doesn't load for all countries so it seems fishy to me. But will be will be. I will check it off and wait for the next one!

Think you might need to re-think that a bit.

Gazza

The Waiting Is Over was a VHS release of the Wembley 26/6/82 footage by the fan who owned the master tape to make back some of the money he paid for the tape. The back cover features a Pete Still Photography shot of the final bow (rare in those days) that I lent him. I think I got the only Betamax copy !

Thats the one, mate. Knew I'd heard the title before. (my copy is Betamax too but not off the master!)

I think the Hampton closed-circuit broadcast was called 'The World's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Party' or something.

Maybe we will see Hampton get an official release one of these years.

Just see it. Haven't read everything but it's a big disapointment to me!

Most anybody has that stuff already/ I don't really like that tour and mainly:
It seems to show what kind of dates/boots they will release. No great hideen stuff, just the foreseeable!

Eventually we'll get El Mocambo. I'm a believer.
As well as some Brian Jones era shows. Just keep on nagging.

Don't get me wrong - it's probably the most solid performance of the 81 tour - but man, as good as it is it's a letdown, kinda.

I have had it for years BUT sonically it's thin and shrill. It'll be great to have it remastered though I'd have prefered the first night at the Pontiac Silverdome (as I was there).

I broke in to the palace with a sponge and a rusty spanner. She said 'er I know you and you cannot sing', I said 'you should hear me play piano'.

Well that was hardly worth the build up. Great show for the two of you out there that don't have it.

Unfortunately, fans who collect bootlegs tend to think the whole point of archive releases is that has to be all about filling gaps in their collection.

It isn't.

There are FAR more Rolling Stones fans who have never heard Brussels 73 or Hampton 81 than there are who own those or any other titles. Far, far more. Its not even close.

For anyone to expect half a dozen totally or mostly uncirculated recordings to be released over the next year is unreasonable and irrational.

PS - wasnt the closed circuit broadcast of this show called 'The Waiting is over' or something? Clever pun on your thread title if you meant it!

Yes, I think you are right, Gazza. I will look forward to listen to Hampton 81, even though I was very disappointed with STILL LIFE back then. I too think it makes sense to have make the greatest bootleg-shows official as you say. I would have loved to have El Mikado this time, but I am sure it will be one of the next four.

If the mix and sound is better than Still Life then I will be happy. I always thought the LSTNT movie had better sound than Still Life, now I don't have to go to the effort of extracting the audio from the LSTNT dvd (as I had planned on doing) as the new download will more or less do the job smiling smiley

I would guess KBFH 78, Atlantic City 89, Wembley 1990 and Miami 94.

Yeah, maybe at their 100th jubilee.
I'm afraid the nice Brüssel was just a one-off teaser and now we'll get the usual stuff.

You misunderstood him, Dandelion. He said that the video "let's spend the night together" doesn't feature anything from Hampton. Because a poster above him said that he "allready had Hampton on LSTNT"

No they don't.

And no one ever suggested or implied they were going to release 'hidden' stuff (presumably you mean uncirculated).

We're not supposed to even have this stuff already, so its not as if they 'owe' us material we havent heard before just because we've chosen to find it illicitly.

For what its worth, a friend of mine who downloaded this release today told me that its a far better mix than what was on the bootlegs.
