How many times has this been brought up!
It's definitely kissing cut in cans - once and for all - cut, not c--t, cans, not Cannes, it's Dietrich, it's the movies, it all fits
Just get a very good pair of headphones and listen, and listen again like I did, it's definitely not c--t!!
Cheers

Casino Boogie, great title, referring of course to Le cote d'azur and its casinos. I've been there many times and the song simply IS le cote d'azur. Btw: I never was drugged up nor a millionaire and certainly not a tax exile (on whatever street). But I recognize the atmosphere of Le cote very well in this song. Everything in it fits: the lyrics, the pace, the guitars and the guitar solo towards the end.

For my money, that tasty guitar figure Taylor plays toward the fadeout could have gone on another five minutes.
Well,I've listened to it several times again .Quote

This is what I always assumed. "Cut in cans" refers to movies, though admiteddly "c unt in Cannes" might be a better line!
AND, have Mick and Keith sung better harmony since "Casino"? I say NOT.

It is "sky diver, inside her"! Of course, very clearly heard as such

Mathjis, I don't see how "cut" is shorter than "cvnt" - both one syllable and take the same amount of time to say or sing.

Tele, There really is a metric difference. Cvnt is just a little longer, so metrically it's not so apt as cut(s). It's inherent in the pronouncement of the N. It slows down, it softens the sequence, it's just less sharp. Remember: all those s: kissing cuts in Cannes. The N would destroy the whole effect. It's maybe a detail, but though.

The N would destroy it unless you emphesize it. Listening to it again does not really provide an answer though. There's 100% for sure no "s" in both "cu(n)t" and "can(nes)".
Concerning the guitars, I always assumed it was Taylor and Richards playing rythm, but it's only Richards -including the slide. Taylor's only part is the solo bit at the ending.

Keno is not the best source for this kind of information.
if it is "cvnt"--can someone explain the joke to me? I'm not saying that with that word it's lavatory humor and can't be funny. I just don't get it, specifically.Quote
I don't think it's a joke so much,as a description of certain type of sexual act. At least that's my take on it.
"It's just some friends of mine and they're busting down the door"

I think taylor's role on Exile is pretty limited overall. But does he play bass on this track?

Tele, my first reaction: that's what I always think when the song is over: pity, I want to hear more of that jamming-with-guitar solo. On the other hand: that feeling, that longing for 'more' is at the same time the power of the music. Taylor often plays a few notes or only a short solo and then I often have the feeling: so sorry it's already over. But that makes the music just great. For example, Mozart wrote many pieces in the strict sonata form, with only a short but intense 'development section' in it. Always too short, in my ears. But I must admit that it has the effect that you're always 'waiting' for that special part to come and also that the music never bores. It's like a pearl hidden in an oyster. The oyster is in itself already beautiful, but the pearl is the 'highlight', though being only a very small part of the whole.

I still would like to know from Mathijs which source, because there are obviously different statements. And only saying Keno (or whatever source) is "not the best source" has no meaning at all.
