Casino Boogie is rock'n'roll.

There is rock, there is hard rock and then there is rock'n'roll. There is no "rock and roll", it's just rock'n'roll. You gotta have the 'n' in there. Otherwise it's null and void.

HEH. Eh, nevermind...over the heads of small children and really old types that shouldn't drive...

the foundation of CB seems like just a simple blues shuffle but the Stones build it from there into rhythmic tour de force, deceptively simple but there's a lot going on below the surface and it is all punctuated by Bobby Keys great '50s rock inspired sax break.

Casino Boogie - William Burroughs - And The Lyrics

In Guitar World Keith gives a good interview.

Although you get the feeling he's rewriting history with the majority of his answers.

Anyway... Keith says that the last song recorded for exile was Casino Boogie, but neither he nor Mick could come up w/ any lyrics.

So Keith suggests they do what Burroughs did with the cut and paste way of writing.. i.e. taking words at random from newpapers and magazines and pasting them together.

Which would explain the choppy nonsensical lyrics..

I've never read this before... but the interview like I said had the feeling of Keith putting a new spin on exile and the wonderful fun time they had mixing all the songs in L.A...contrary to everything I read , including how well he and Mick got on so well.. and how they worked continuously in the basement while everyone else partied upstairs! haha

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"
