Anita Pallenberg toured the world with the band, while her interest in the occult influenced their music and their shows.

After stocking up on groceries, the 65-year-old former model emerged from the store in Chichester, looking grumpy as she lit a cigarette.

She then returned - by chauffeur-driven car - to the farmhouse she shares with her son Marlon, 41.

Miss Pallenberg first met the Stones in 1965 when she and a friend went backstage at their concert in Munich.

She began a two-year affair with Brian Jones, then moved in with Keith Richards.

They stayed together for more than 12 years and had three children: Marlon, Dandelion (later renamed Angela), now 37, and Tara, who was born in 1976 but died in his cot at the age of ten weeks

I was thinking about that as well, I think someone posted photos of the event and she was looking pretty well. I know that she has suffered from some illness within the last 10 years, but I thought that was past. Was it hepatitis C? I think she also had back surgery but still was suffering from it. Perhaps she is not doing well health-wise. I hope that's not the case.

What Brian Jones would have looked like, had he not been so self destructive. At least Anita lived a full life and is still here.

Though if there was a picture of Brian in old age, I am sure he would still have some teenage girl on his arm.

People get old. The tabloids should get over it.

Anita suffers from Hepatitis C, a chronic liver disease.

But it looks like she has ended up buttered side up, if she is being driven about by a chauffeur and living at Redlands, which is not an ordinary farmhouse by any means, but a large luxurious house on big grounds. If she is living with Marlon, his wife and 2 children must be there too. I know she also has a nice flat in Chelsea.

Not bad at all considering everything.

Since she is lighting up a cigarette, while waiting for a car to take her home, the conclusion should be that she's just using a taxi service to get around.
IF it was her own chauffeur driven car, she would not be standing there in the freezing cold with all the groceries in the trolley. Instead the chauffeur would be busy putting the bags into the boot, giving her enough time to smoke one, OR she would get out of the cold as quickly as possible and have a cigarette on the way home.

I love this set of pictures - they look so happy. Anita's outfit was supercool too. Not many people can pull of leopard skin pants. Although I think Patti wore some too in the Keith '81 or '83 Kurt Loder interview that was in Rolling Stone magazine. Keith must like his ladies in them (or out of them!).
