EP? Hell I think "Black and Blue" should have been a DOUBLE LP. One of the drawbacks is that all of those grooves are edited down. The outtakes show most of those songs were 7 minute funk/groove jams that would have sounded great at full length worked out. As well as some of the songs that didn't make the cut. It's another prime example of the Stones tapping into the

The Stones got over their 'festival' desire pretty quickly. Palm Beach was a disaster, and we all know how they felt about Altamont. Scanning my brain I think the only other 'festival' type thing they ever have done was Knebworth in 76 and that was to make up to the homeland for the lousy Earl's Court shows that not enough people could get into. SARS was sort of the

These files are Real Audio. I beleive one way to get them into correct format is to play them on your computer and then, through your audio out jack record them as they play on either an MD recorder or CD recorder. You could then make a CD of them. There are several bootlegs of these tracks floating about, but I think these Real Audio files may be of slightly better quality as they have the

The REAL Holy Grail would be the COMPLETE Ft. Worth 78 show which was filmed professionally, and, indeed, does exist. This show was apparently filmed to be close-circuit broadcast to theatres around the country (the way they used to do the big fights in those days) but the deal, for whatever reasons, got nixed and the film remains in the cans, on a shelf, most likely because someone doesn'

For a first performance it was pretty good. Listen to the way Sway sounded the first night vs. how it sounds now. They can't get into the weave etc. until they have it down, then it will rip. Yes, they do end up rehearsing onstage frequently - like the entire 1976 Tour for example ;-) I'll take T&A over Happy (talk about not playing guitar!! he never plays when he sings the vers

1267. Re: Sway
The only real drawback I feel with all of the live versions is Jagger's use of "there must be ways to find out" as opposed to those fantastic "hey"s and "love is the way, they say is real" That to me does take some of the intensity away. I've come to expect his change of phrasing now with anything they do now. Ronnie is soling fine on the live versions.

Another exception was the amp problem in MSG in 98. The Stones whipped Little Red Rooster out of their back pocket to fill time.

Is ANYONE going to comment on the fact that Keith Richards sang "You Got The Sliver" without playing an instrument?????? Wrack your brains over the fact that he has not performed/sang onstage without either a guitar or piano in front of him since? Before the Stones? You give me one time. INCREDIBLE moment, And it came after he got an impromptu SECOND ovation from the crowd which

This will just attract too many WAY-should-NOT-be-wearing-THAT former biker hotties trying to recapture their 80's glory by squeeeezing into those old leather pants and denim cut offs they had no business wearing 35 pounds and three kids ago. And making us look at it all night. Not to mention all the "I thought the reason I was here was to keep buying beer and annoy the piss out of ever

He was kicked off the tour because he was 'difficult' to deal with -- his onstage antics and overplaying annoyed the piss out of the band. J

That is a mono Let It Bleed acetate pressed sometime in late Spring/early Summer 1969 before the band rewoked the tracklist etc. If you notice on the Hyde Park show Mick introduces Loving Cup as going to be on their new album. J

It's a great idea, but there are many issues involved with a LOT of this stuff. Ownership is one -- they simply either don't own a LOT of the video footage or would need to deal with legal stuff to get the proper people paid etc. (Ladies & Gentlemen is a prime example of this). Second there is the whole ABKCO issue of rights etc. (they 'own' everything through Brown Sug

I've seen about 30 Stones concerts to date. The first Hollywood Bowl show this tour may be the best I've seen. The performance was unreal. Ranked with the Orpheum in 2002 and MSG 2 and 3 in 1998. J

T&A: Wake up. Rock 'n roll IS show business (emphasis on business). Where have you been? And if the Stones are so heartless and lazy -- how many other acts of their caliber did what they did on the Licks Tour around the world playing small venues?/And exactly how many new/rare songs did they debut on THAT tour?? Gazza - Get into the real world. I admire your idealism, but there's no way an audience will stand for that. Hell, they don't even 'stand' for Infamy, The Worst or anything else that ISN'T a warhorse. The aisles fill, the crowd sits, the chatter starts up. So, YES, those ARE the people who are going to these shows. Sad but true. Our 'dream' setlists of Sw

You really anticipate a STADIUM show without Brown Sugar in it Marshall (and others)? Check your research. Since Altamont how many shows do you think they have played WITHOUT Brown Sugar in the setlist? In 1975 how many obscure/first time songs did they do in their set that weren't from their latest album? Any deep cuts from "Let it Bleed" or "Beggar's" No &quo
