Quotewith sssoulLady Jayne, i recall you saying just after the wedding that Keith didn't look well to you. if you said that Ronnie looked like he's been drinking heavily i must have missed that. libel laws are a bit weird in many ways. (i used to work as a journalist, in the US, not the UK - but still). if the Sun got someone who happens to live "close to the Woods" t

While the Sun's taste, spelling, bye-lines are indeed crap, their legal department has been fairly efficient and very active since the disasters of the 80's. That tends to mean in respect of those who can afford to sue they have the sources to back up the story. While the Stones are not particularly litigious about personal failings ( a different matter where breach of copyright or co

QuotebumbumRonnie didn't look like a guy drinking 2 bottles of vodka a day at his daughters wedding 2 wweks ago. There was no sign of problems, infact he looked very well, so it is as usual rubbish. I beg to differ. He looked extremely 'unwell' outside Southwark Cathedral although not quite so unsteady on his feet as Keith. I also thought he was fairly wasted at the SAL prem

Quotescottkeef"See the light"???? I have no idea what you're talking about. Unless its the gracious and non-argumentative way Lady Jayne expressed her OPINIONS. What I stated about the 73 Japanese tour was pure fact. And try to decide how you want to spell my name, please. Maybe the correct way for a change. Whatever it takes!!! And that really is a lovely compliment - thanks Sco

QuotemickschixWell SCOTTSKEEF, at least Lady Jayne has helped you to " see the light!", even though there was nothing particularly unique in her statement. Whatever it takes! LOL. I do always strive for persuasive unoriginality, Mickschix, so thanks for the compliment.

It does seem as if they have as little to do with each other as possible. Mick buttons his lip in public and Keith trots out the same cheap shots. I love Keith and his legacy is secure, but I do agree that Mick is the one who keeps the show on the road now (which according to some on this board is nothing to applaud!) Both men have their weaknesses and strengths but Keith's alcoholism can

For anyone interested, OK (uk magazine) appears to have the exclusive wedding photos (as opposed to the pap shots outside the cathedral) and is on the stands today in the UK.

QuoteablettEqual share of both. You wouldn't put the effort in that Jagger does if you weren't an artist. And the Stones wouldn't be where they are today with out his business acumen..... I agree. I hate the simplistic character stereotypes indulged in by the media and, to an extent, posters on this board. Of course, he likes to make money and many of the business decisions tak

I would think by industry standards they are magnificent employers. Their longevity as a working band coupled with the fact most people stay with them for donkeys years, suggests that employment on the Stones bandwagon is the music industry equivilent of a civil service job for life!

QuoteTrulyMicksQuotesweetcharmedlifeSo Mick was there? How come no pix of him. He's not normally camera shy.....Sneaked in through a side door. Mick's getting publicity shy all of a sudden? I doubt Mick's camera shy all of a sudden. Being the classy and thoughtful guy Mick is, if he went through the side door it was most likely because he didn't want to take away from the br

What I want to know is why there has never been any sign of a bald patch after the 'tree surgery'. I would expect at least part of his head would have been shaved for his op but there has been no noticeable sign of differing hair growth.

Quotewith sssoulthanks - i am cognizant of that usage as well, and should indeed have included it in my one-post mini-lesson about count/noncount usage of the word love. and i still maintain that on either side of the Atlantic, i need a love is not normal usage - not that it's "impossible", but it is not the way anyone would *normally* say "i need someone or something t

There were not cheaper seats at the 02 as I recall. The cheapest seats were £70. QuoteJustinI'm sure that the young crowd was excited to see the Stones at the Isle of Wight Festival because younger fans are for the most part shut out of Stones concerts on tours because of the incredible prices. How can people ages 14-18 afford $450 floor seats by themselves? They can't really go with friends and have a good time when the price for tickets are that high. I d

QuoteGazza The main thing that stops the Stones being seen as 'cool' by people under 25 is that their concerts are financially inacessible. Its significant that when the Stones played the Isle of Wight festival last year - which attracts a primarily younger audience to what they usually do - they went down a storm with an audience which, for the most part, was seeing them for the first

Who defines what is cool or uncool? Dylan gets an easy ride with music journalists etc and still produces critically acclaimed work. On the other hand, the last gig I went to was tedious as hell and a lot of empty seats. I think if you showed his photo to most teenagers today they wouldn't recognise him. On the other hand, most teenagers still know who the Rolling Stones are and recognis
