RIP YSL

One of the greats.... people don't realize what brilliant artists many fashion designers are. YSL had a tough life, struggling with his demons, depression, and paranoia. He died much too young, a very sad day.

Whenever I hear the name Yves Saint Laurent it reminds me of the Aerosmith song, Combination. "Walking on gucci, wearin' yves saint laurent"....R.I.P. YSL.

Almost year ago I was invited to a special event at the original YSL maison de couture which meant a great deal to me. That afternoon was two days after seeing "The Boys" at Stade de France. As it turned out,in that elegant building in Avenue Marceau there were a number of elegant people of diverse ages and for the first half hour before we went upstairs it was non-stop talk about the Rolling Stones. "Weren't they wonderful!!...fantastique!...the best" etc. etc.

Upstairs,YSL was playing Ella Fitzgerald singing "I Love Paris." A perfect apres-midi.

... always a favorite of mine,, simple sophisto'd and eligeant rags,,, at least

get one of his ties if ya got nothing else.....

Remembering that gorgeous trouser suit worn by Bianca on her wedding day to Mick which I believe was designed by YSL. The most stylish wedding outfit ever.
