I love New Orleans and have visited many times over the years. I was especially disturbed when Katrina hit one month after I had just had an excellent visit. So much amazing culture and cuisine. It must be no fun to be stuck in a hotel room in this great city, like Bjornulf is, hoping for things to clear by Sunday. At some point the touring entourage will need to make a decision on coming to

"Jagger cut across that stage, strutting and smooth, like a rooster imitating a shark ......Watts acted as the band’s center of gravity, pushing and pulling on space-time in a way that gave the music its nastiness and its dignity .......Wood was weaving with silk while Richards was using rebar." I like the way this guy from the Post writes, 'cept maybe Ronnie is more like leathe

I saw 12 shows in 1989 from Toad's Place and Philly to the Atlantic City finale. I was so happy to see them after the long layoff that I could hardly complain. But as the tour went on, I realized that the guitars weren't right. Was it the mix? the actual guitars Keith was using? the extra musicians? Hard to say but the guitar sound was muddied or over blended which probably gave ris

Photo book did not airbrush out Bill . . . ha ha. Anybody else having problems with Mac and CD player unable to read/display song titles on disc 2 and 3? Have not seen this problem before on a non-bootleg. Mac iTunes also thinks disc 1 is Japanese single disc version. I'm in the US in case that makes a difference. HBK

Yes, the Kansas City show was one of the best I've seen since the 2012 return to touring. SFM was absolutely awesome and Kansas City the song was also a rare treat. I'm not an Ed Sheeran fan but I thought he did a fine job on BoB unlike other guest who have practically ruined the songs in their duets. The Dave Grohl Bitch track should be good too since they really stretched it out a b

He has toured US before and performed songs from Avalon plus other Roxy and solo tracks. Saw him in 2016 in Philadelphia supporting the Avonmore solo LP. I guess this tour is supposed to feature Avalon, following on the Hall of Fame induction of Roxy. Is this controversial? Maybe because not all Roxy fans like this LP, but I do. HBK

Yep -great book at the time. I bought when it first came out. Price listed on back is $10.95. Mine still intact but you can feel the binding ready to fall apart. In retrospect, many of the photos are silly space fillers but it's a great slice of history. HBK

QuoteDGA35 So pissed off my Bears choked! After much swearing I've calmed down. I now see that the final missed field goal by Parkey might have been slightly tipped so if that's the case, he's not public enemy #1 to Bears fans. Good luck to Philly against New Orleans. The Bears are a very good team and I look forward to them dominating NFC North. I'm an Eagles fan, livi

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 To HouseBoy - I can't believe you are being dismissive about the photos. But since it sounds like you are a photographer, you probably find more fault than I do. Great shots with life; and from a slightly unusual angle. Thanks for the kind words, PR2000. You are correct that I may be overly dismissive since I see my photos in the context of pro-shots taken with

Happy Birthday to Keith. 37 years ago today on his 38th was the well-known Hampton Coliseum pay-per-view show which has been memorialized over the years in bootleg and official releases. I was 28 that year and attended 14 shows on the US tour, including both Hampton shows where I met Keith and Ronnie in person at the after show party the first night. That amazing adventure is chronicled elsew

Thumbs up. These guys are a local band for us in Philadelphia and I have followed for a few years. I agree with the Pink Floyd comparisons: extended riffing, galloping drums and dreamy sound. Maybe a little My Morning Jacket in there as well. Also check out Strand of Oaks. Also from Philly. Similar sound but a little more rocking. HBK

Back in the day and for many years, I would actually pick up the needle and skip Just Want to See His Face. It was so weird and didn't seem like a song. But now I get it and it feels like an integral part of the LP. Still my vote for under-rated or under-appreciated gem goes to Turd on the Run. It's certainly one of the funniest Stones song titles ever. HBK

My copy has not yet arrived, but all the concerns expressed about the audio quality are exactly what I was afraid of. The audio on the original broadcast was muffled and almost unlistenable with no dynamic range. I taped it back in the day and almost never watched it in favor of the Meadowlands VHS which was sold at some later US VL shows. I still own a sealed copy of that VHS. Maybe time to
