The head shops were great bootleg outlets here in Wisconsin as well. As I got older I figured out college towns were great sources for bootlegs. One of my early finds was a record called "Potboiler" It was one of the many 69 Liver than youll ever be copies. It was a crude brown cardboard sleeve with "Potboiler" written on it in black marker. Really heavy vinyl LP as I reme

I was born in 1960. We always had a radio on at the house growing up. I decided I loved the Stones when I heard "Get of My Cloud" the first time. We had lots of access to records as my dad ran a Woolworths store in Milwaukee. He actually ordered records through the distributor. We had a promo copy of Out of our Heads. A few years later me and my 10 year old buddies shot holes in it with

Stones by a closer margin than many think. These were my bands growing up in 70's. Ray is the best songwriter. Stones the best stage act. The catalogs are closer than most think. Dave Davies is a better guitarist than Keith and Ronnie. (Not MT though) Stones rock harder through the years. ( A kinks late 80's arena show was a rocking ton of fun) Kinks are more

There is absolutely no factual data for these "celebrity net worth" lists that I have ever seen. This is part fantasy and part guesstimate.

Hi all. This is a questions I have had for most of my adult life. Is the iconic stage outfits worn by Mick (and Keith) preserved? Like 69 Omega shirt. Uncle Sam hat 1972 jumpers 1975 baggy pirate look.

"What to do" from UK Aftermath. Love the simple nature of that song. Sounds great even today.

The white scripted Beggars Banquet cover was always one of my favorites. The discreet album cover was the perfect foil to the fantastic dark album it hid. I hate the toilet cover. I wish it would have stayed buried. It is Juvenile at best. I know am close to alone on this opinion but have always wanted to say how much I hate the toilet cover.

Like teaathree I was going to watch a bit of Gimme Shelter. Watched the entire movie and was spellbound as the other 50 times I have watched. You cant look away once it starts. I have the criterion dvd and thx sound systems and the walls shook. The ending with Micks face as he walked out of the studio as Gimme Shelter starts to paly is sheer film brilliance. Thank you Charlotte, Albert,

I was at that show! 49th & Lisbon in Milwaukee. It was a great show. MAC was standout that night. We also had great seats about 10 rows center, This is an old movie theatre that probably seats about 800-1000. Funny, the one thing I remember most was Mckenzie Phillips was hanging around the stage, she was a big deal at the time as she was in some bad sitcom. Not sure what her connection wa

Chicago Soldiers Field July 8, 1978. Wow. I was 18 and really drunk the night before. My friends left me behind. The kindness of three young ladies that took me in at the Travelodge on Michigan really saved me. Our seats were not great but who cares. I was seeing the ROLLING STONES. It was a great time and show. I remember Journey opened and were not great. Sweet little 16 & Let it R

Very sad news. The Raiders were an icon in American pop/rock in the late 60's. This band earned their way in. They played the Pacific Northwest area with gusto and showmanship not seen to that point in the early 60's. They weren't the Stones or Beatles in terms of stature but they were a big deal. They appeared on American television over 700 times, Held the record for biggest

My first boot. Back in the mid 70's my buddy had a hip older brother. When he heard we were into the Stones he gave us is original "Pot Boiler" in a plain brown sleeve. Were like sponges looking for more Stones material. It wasn't like today and the internet. We had to prowl old hippie record stores and ads in the back of Rolling Stone for a wiff of boots. I appreciate &qu
