Just read on CNN that she passed away from cancer at age 68. Only really knew her song It's My Party as well as her performance on the TAMI Show where she seemed very popular with the audience.

First girl I had a crush on as a young lad. Had her picture from a fan magazine on my wall.

She had some really good hits.

She was really good-- besides the string of hits in the early 60's also co -wrote a number of hits during the 80's & 90's---- solid performer & artist

There was an edge to songs like 'You Don't Own Me' that were ahead of their time. And Quincy Jones produced a lot of those hits.

I really liked her voice and the songs. Bryan Ferry did a cover of It's My Party which was hilariously camp simply by not switching the gender.

Don't remember the song but after listening to it yesterday, it was in my head for the entire day. What a hook. Cool video too, you can just see the crazy late 60's about to explode from that scene. peace

RIP, Ms. Lesley. BTW, you gotta love the cat costumes on the California Nights clip noted above. Meow!

That's sad RIP....loved her It's my Party and you Don't Own me....although Dusty did an great cover of the song and Brain Ferry did a great cover of It's my Party as well.........is this the news we are going to listen the coming years
