Keith certainly improved last night...once again, I'm only going on the YouTube clips, but he seemed more together. That said, he is still a million miles away from his better years, and let's face it, those chords are the easiest chords to play and he's been playing them for 40 years! For me, Keith's playing was more about the timings and rhythm and for the most part he

I haven't been to any of the shows on this tour, had to rely on the YouTube clips, which never give a good account sound wise, but it's tragic seeing Keith playing the solos on Sympathy, as much as he has deteriorated, it wouldn't be too onerous to vary the three or four notes and at least try something a bit different.... Keith was always one of my favourite guitarists, he wasn

We all know how bad Keith's fingers are...it's well covered in numerous interviews and you actually see the swollen joints....I'm a guitarist like many on here, and I'm sure they would agree that it's hard to play when your joints hurt, lord knows how Keith manages to still do what he does! My concern is more about his mental state and I hope it's just his meds w

Wouldn't it be nice, if one night they dropped in Let It Loose. One of their best songs, yet never performed live....even Phish managed to cover it well live, so the Stones could easily do it. Yes, I know, the majority of a Stones audience these days want the greatest hits, but it will be a tragedy if this song is never played at least once in their time. Otherwise, no surprises really

Really sad to hear this. Those classic 70s recordings were the soundtrack to my teens and from there on. Only got to see them once and that was at the bizarre location of Aintree Race track in Liverpool a few years back, but they were excellent....well worth watching some of The Dukes of September clips on YouTube. RIP Walter.

I like Liam, and Noel for that matter. The first two Oasis albums were very good, after that it kind of faded away to the odd decent track here and there. Yes, they can be irritating and possibly some of the fall outs are contrived to get the headlines etc, but you need characters in rock and they never fail to tip their hats to their rock predecessors. Without the likes of the Gallagher Br

Quotestone4ever Quotecrumbling_mice Why do you feel the need to defend your opinion, it was a perfectly good appraisal and fair. I really think the current thing with Jagger is a case of the Emperors new clothes. He'll come up with these ideas in a vain attempt to stay musically relevant and those around him and in his pay, will tell him what he wants to hear....they aint going to say, Mick, just @#$%& give it up, your solo works were pretty dreadful and you're in your 70s now, and the songs are only going to sel

QuoteHairball QuotePalace Revolution 2000 Can't really see a difference between the two cuts. I;m glad Mick put out couple of new tracks, but they are pretty lame. I wonder - who really does he see them appealing to? Young people? Old Stones fans? Based on what my 22 year old niece just said, can't see young people getting into these - not sure they want to hear an old man preaching a

I'm fairly sure that Phil Lesh plays one of at least one track on Anthem of the Sun, it's likely they used one on a few other albums in the early days.....American Beauty might have one in there but can't remember what tracks! Either way, it;s a beautiful instrument and gives a beautiful sound....have a listen to some Bach played on one!

Really sad news to hear. I've always had a soft spot for Anita and not just for her undoubted beauty. She pushed the boundaries and as she says herself, was always way ahead of the Stones. I saw a tweet from someone who lives near Wittering last week, and they said that their Waitrose delivery had arrived and that the person the driver had delivered to before her, was a Mr Richards and

QuoteDoxa What is this romantic bullshit about ”originality”? That technically some half-baked sketches based on old cliches and way-too circulated patterns is credited to some artist releasing a new product tells something about ”originality” or ”creativity”? My ass. I guess there is some sort of romantic myth based on the golden days of rock music that the performers are ”artists” that suppose

Quotejlowe Quoteouroux58 Quotewonderboy Well, as a Keith fanboy and a father of a young man I can say that he looks quite fragile and vulnerable in that snippet. He was miserable at this time (on his way to rehab, 'Coming Down Again') and my heart goes out to anybody in that condition. And the idea that Keith or any of them 'needed' drugs to function is just bullshit, sorry f

Two distinctly average records on the grand scheme of things, but both good in different ways. Good because Keith's was better than expected and it has a couple of really good songs and B & L because it was a really good effort from a band at the end of their careers. If I had to pick I'd go for B&L.

Well let's hope they deem it prudent to play more than th 02 in the UK. That has to have the worst sound of any indoor arena, well certainly any I've been in. May I suggest Leeds Arena, brand new and good acoustics....oh and only a few miles from my house. The stones have history in leeds.....two classic gigs !

Let's hope this is a load of bollox as it likely is. The world does not need another Jagger solo album. I can think of 4 decent Jagger solo songs and that is it. It's not likely he'll come up with anything remotely interesting a this stage, well anything self penned.

Comments like 'Keith doesn't look well' always amuse me....it was the early 70s, they'd been on tours that were, to say the least @#$%& hard...often playing two shows a day, in order to be able to that they needed drugs, and in Keith's case lots of them, legal and illegal. Sleep would have been as and when and often not for quite long periods. The bands these days w

I would love Paris 76 to be officially released, preferably the June 6th show as I was there. Like most of you, I'm sure, I have the bootleg video of this show and it leaves a lot to be desired which is to be expected, so to see it in improved sound and vision would be amazing. I wasn't near the front so doubt I'll spot a 16 year old Crumbling Mice, but nevertheless...bring it on!

Be careful what you wish for. Do you really want another out pouring of weak Jagger/Richards efforts....I think it's fairly well established that they can't write a decent song these days, and to be brutally honest, their last efforts at times were cringing. There comes a time when you have to accept that the formula you use needs to be changed and they did this so well with Blue

Please let this not be true. I'm generally disappointed with this whole thing of the mega rich being able to order a Stones gig for their personal pleasure. It's a vile side of the music business and one I didn't think Keith would ever agree to. They don't need the money from these shows and I'd be far more impressed if they did free gigs in a few small venues for ..

Quotegeorgelicks The success of B&L will change the things in the near future of the Stones, there's a big market out there wanting this kind of stuff from them, more than 1 million albums sold in less than 3 weeks with minimal work in the studio, Universal will push them in this way, not many acts on today's market can sell 1 million albums so fast. Exactly...that's where th
