There's two great stories about the Sydney shows. One guy had a story about a guitar he sold to Keith (I believe the story was on Rock's Off board), and he visited the Stones in their hotel room. another story is an entire interview with Mick and Keith after the 02/27 Sydney show, and Mick and Keith are listening to the playback of the soundboard tape of that show. In this interview Kei

This doesnn't look like a 1978 show by the way, it most probably is Philladephia or San Fancisco 1981. Mathijs

Mostly I fully agree with people making bad remarks about the Stones these days. Yes, they are old, they are just a money machine, they are a Vegas act, they haven't released anything interesting since 1983. Then all I do then is play Brussels Affair, Handsome Girls and Hampton 81 from start to finish. That suffices. Mathijs

I'll give an explenation in English, as apperently I am the one to blaim. Mat Heusden is Belgium guy who suddenly, about 2-3 years ago started herressing Hendrik Mulder and me. We both had never met him, never spoke with him, never emailed with him, never traded with him. He first accused Hendrik of cheating on him with bootlegs (that while Hendrik didn't trade bootlegs anymore for more

Echt geloof me, de wereld is beter af zonder jou.

He Mat, onze Belgische vriend! Alles goed jongen, nog steeds gefrustreerd omdat je nooit verder met je leven bent gekomen dan de frituur? Prozac is een wondermiddel joh, neem er meteen een stuk of 100 en spoel het weg met een fles Whisky. Mathijs

We would love to play outside of Holland, but the problem lies in the fact that doing one show is just too expensive for most clubs (it starts from about 2000 euro ith all the equipment etc). So, in order to keep the costs payable, we must do at least 4 or 5 shows. Not a problem to us, but to organise this is an encredible amount of work. Mathijs

The Stones have a warehous in the London docks area, and all equipment, when not used on tour or in the studio, is stocked there. Chuch McGee was in charge of the warehouse, Pierre de B. is now. - 72 Custom Tele/s Last used on stage at the 1993 Winos tour, used for press pictures in 2002, not seen ever since. Keith said he did some recordings with it for B2B. - Late 70's Rosewood?

9172. Altamont
Listening to the well known Altamont audience tape as released by VGP it suddenly struck me: this isn't taped by a fan, this is taped by the Maysels brothers themselves! What you hear is the mike close to the stage, placed there to capture the audience reponse. I was listening and I noticed that many screams of a women in the audience were exectly the same as on the movie, and some of the fa

Asie from the lack of energy in 1971, I really don't like the sound. Instead of the piles of Ampeg SVT amps, they experimented with Fender Twin Reverb amps. The Leeds gigs just sound way too clean. Combine that with a lack of stage tuners and a Ampeg Armstrong guitar with tuning instabillity....no, not my favourite tour. Mathijs

Both shows were recorded by the Stones. There's an interview with Keith the day after the first gig, and he runs through the soundboard tape with the interviewer. This tape was, according to Keith, useless as it had technical problems like wistles and hiss. He hoped tonights show will be recorded better. Mathijs
