Do take in mind that with many of the larger stadium shows, the field seats were rearranged to hold less people. For example, the Veteran in Philadelphia can hold about 50.000 people, but for the 2002 tour only 35.000 tickets were sold while it was still a sell-out. Cohl explains this in an interview in some economical magazine, that you can sell 50.000 tickets for $50, or 25.000 tickets for $125

I forgot....In Utrecht at the Vredenburg there was an elderly women, small and really overweight, who wore an enormous foam Stone tongue on her belly. It was so big that you actually only could see her head and her feet. She was standing there all day, and I understand that she didn't have a icket. WHen I saw her, I actually felt some sort of shame I am a Stones fan too....it was really hard

No, I don't like Brian Jones. He was an average musician distrecting the Stones with all that flute-mockery (the Stones beacme out of this world good the moment Jones past out in 1968), I don't like his attitude on stage (only an eye for the camera) and -from the stories from people who knew him- I sure would have hated the guy. Mind, this is a perspective from somebody who's born

1) them neglecting their past. Instead of making money with releasing outtakes and live shows from the golden years they give is NS and Live Licks. 2) Keith Richards doing his Keith Richards act -the stupid movements, the stupid oneliners, not ONE foto since 1989 without a cigarette in his hand. Try to play goddamit. 3) the average stones fan in a stadium: beer belly, worn Levi's jacket w

The great thing in music is that you can play 100 instruments at the speed of light, but still have no recognition or commercial succes at all. Only if you can write songs that people can relate too in whatever way, or you can convey music written by others in a terrific way (Elvis, Sinatra), then you will be succesful. Mathijs

The sitar by Jones can be heard quite good on especialy the instrumental breaks. The high pitched instrument is the shehani, played by Dave Mason. Mathijs

The sources used for Could You Walk On The Water are the official promo CD "Rarities on Compact Disc - Vol. 16 and Vol.20". These official releases have been released on bootleg on the "On The Needle" series, and later by Sister Morphine with enhanced treble and loudness, which make the 60's Stones songs sound like pumped up Aerosmith rock. In my opinion, Jones is a terribly gifted musician, but a very mediocre guitar player. He didn't see himself as a guitarist, he liked to see himself as a bluesharp player. Aside from some nice slide parts (easy to play, but hard to invent) I can't recall any Jones guitar contribution that's worth noting. His contribution to the Stones and 60's music in general is his flamboyan

Satisfaction! Aside from the fantastic intro, the song really never worked for me. It is recorded really badly: the tempo drifts, Charlie changes the beat around, Keith makes a major mistake with the riff in the middle, the bass doesn't seem to connect. Keith has always claimed that the released version wasn't finished, that is actually still was a demo, and think he is right with that
