A band that matured into more than fine pop band, great (and loads of'em) singles. Never seen them live, but am tempted to go see 'em with the Pogues this summer, especially as I've been offered a couple of VIP freebies.

all this "remastering" reminds me of the "whiter the ever before" washing powder ads. theres an obvious flaw in that selling strategy. Which reminds me it must be a good few months since Costello re-released his whole catalogue YET AGAIN !

I had to wear those socks when i was laid up for 3 months. As for the cancer, it was the complications with the surgery that nearly saw me off in the end.

My favourite Neil Young gig is still seeing him at the Fleadh Finsbury Pk with Booker T and the MGs. just wish they did Green Onions and not dock of the bay as their nod to the MGs history. What Shakey could have brought to Croppers already blistering guitar would have been interesting. ENJOY.

QuoteJustin QuoteKeefan I love this cd...its an unedited performance done for Elvis' '68 Comeback Special...its got a great loose feel to it, with a lot of verbal banter between Elvis, Scotty, and the rest of the band. indeed. Hope you've picked up the complete set since "Tiger Man" came out. Here you'll get the 2 sit down shows and the 2 stand up s

I think that this is one of Bruces' most inspired covers, Suicides Dream Baby. A band he cites as an influence/inspiration for Nebraska. Considering I knew the Suicide album real well, I never got the connection at the time, watching this I get it. you really got watch all 8 mins.

Different Studio, different musicians Gazza. there MAY have been some overlap of musicians but the STAX Studio and label was an entirly different entity from American Recording Studio;s where Neil Diamond cut his early hits and Dusty did her wonderful In Memphis album. He did of course record at Stax but not sure if he used the regular house band, which was a rather loose collective in any cas

QuoteAddicted A week ago today, we had lunch in a London restaurant. Next to us, three middle aged British gentlemen who obviously had more money than wine knowledge. It was only two days away from the Grand National, and these gentlemen were obviously horse owners. My eyes almost rolled out as the sommeliér placed a bottle of Chateau Lafitte Rotschild 1978 on their table, and the wine was caref

The substantial differences in the mono and stereo White album mixes are - Back In The U.S.S.R. The airplane overdubs occur in different places on the mono and stereo versions. Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da The stereo version has hand-clapping during the intro, the mono version does not. While My Guitar Gently Weeps The stereo version has some vocal sounds from George at the end, the mono ve

QuoteSohoe Thanks for the stories Nanker. Quite some memories I unfortunatley is way too young to ever have witnessed the crazy energy shows in their mid-to-late-eighties heyday. Haven't had a chance to see them since the re-union either, and with only a few festival gigs lined up for the summer, it probably ain't gonna happen anytime soon ...didn't know tapes of their earli
