It will be interesting to see who Kim has backing him up. It would be great if it was the early 2000s version of the T-Birds that's on the "Invitation Only' dvd! Dave 'Kid' Ramos(gtr), Willie Campbell(bass) and Steven Hodges(drums), all from the James Harman Band, and Gene Taylor(piano) from the Blasters. This dvd is a must for T-Birds fans.

If you like harmonica driven blues, you need to check out the James Harman Band. Especially early Harman with Hollywood Fats and Kid. Stevie Ray Vaughan mentioned in several interviews that Kid and Fats were a couple of his favorite guitar players. Kid, in my humble opinion, can easily hold his own along side Jimmie Vaughan. 'YouTube' Hollywood Fats or Kid Ramos and check out the vids.

Well thank you, highly informative. I've been a fan of the Fab Thunderbirds since I was first introduced to them by someone I was working with in the States in 1980, and have seen them several times over the years here in London. Most recently was in July or August last year in fact. I pretty much have all of their stuff, although I did notice from looking at their website that there's a live album out ... MUST get !! Some of their tunes like "Rock This Place" and "My Babe" are just dynamite. Great live band, long may they prosper !

Hodges, Ramos, Campbell and Taylor are long gone from the T-Birds by now. Their myspace page lists their current lineup as Kim Wilson, Randy Bermudes, Mike Keller, Johnny Moeller and Jason Moeller.

Still, it's basically solely been Kim's band from the early 90s onwards, and he's always had good taste in picking his sidemen, so have fun!

The Gene Taylor Blues Band( all Blasters w/o Phil) ROCKS! Check out there stuff on Youtube. When they did a "mini tour" of the west coast Christmas before last
Gene took most of the vocals and Dave really showed what an underappreciated blues guitarist he is!

it'll never be as good as the original lineup - or even version II with Fran ....but Kim's a first-rate performing and harp player and always surrounds himself with top-notch talent. there were prolly my fave band for a time there in the late 70's - first 3 albums should be in any blues fan's collection...

Without Jimmie Vaughan they certainly aren't 'Fabulous'.
I would put them somewhere around "The rather common thunderbirds" until the long awaited Gotta Pay My Mortgage Tour 2012 reunion happens.
