Alab Clarke was one of the earliest admires of Bruce Sprinsgteen with the Hollies covering "Sandy" around 75. He also recorded a version of "blinded by the light" but never released it, giving the OK to Manfred Mann. HE also recorded an early version of Born To Run" and "If I were A Priest" Anyway The Hollies, Yes a great band, cracking harmonies, great pop

I was at the first ever Pogues gig at the Pindar Of Wakefield pub in Kings Cross, about 40 in the pub. We all decamped to a nearby flay for copious amounts of alchol. Now who was the Pogues road manager who worked for the stones, an irish bloke. passed away about 15 yrs ago. ???? Oh still worth seeing today, the know they can only get so much out of Shane and pace the show accordingly. a f

Nice piece on Lowell George and Little Feat in this months Mojo. Some R.S. references as well. Can't think of many other bands or artist whose first 5 albums could match Little Feat.

WHat Mr. Gonzo said. And nicer chaps you coulnt share a pint of porter with. Dad rock, maybe ? but what does that actually mean anyway, I bet of os us arer Dads or Mums. Funnt at fanny gigs the mosh pit gets taken over by ild folk and has become known as the DAD PIT. Maybe its better to mature with a bit of style rather then try and hang on to your youth. Anyway I just love this band

Quoteandy js Only really loved em up to (and including) the sublime 'Bandwagonesque' myself Thought they went a bit old and boring after that Oh you are so wrong, but of course its all a matter of individual preferance and taste. In fact As good, no great as Bandwagonesque is, thye really matured as writets and performers after that. Grand Prix is so choc full of classics that it c

I've seen them countless times and on there is a depth to their music that goes beyond the melodies and harmonies, three great songwriters and singers. Norman has also recorded an album with Euros Childs of Gorky's Zygotic Mynci which should be out towards the end of the year. Those who like the Fanclub will not be dissapointed by the new album, I assure you.

You cant go wrong with anything by Little Feat up to and including Last Record Album. Lowell George's solo album " Thanks I'll Eat It Here" is a flawed gem, flawed but still a gem.

I was totally underwhelmed by the Little Village album at the time, saw them live as well and was equally dissapointed. Maybe my expectations were too high. I had Seen Ry a few years earlier (with hiatt in the Band) and it was one of the best gigs i'd been to. Hiatts's "Bring The Family" was and still is one of my favourite albums. I'd loved basher lowe right back to the

Forget all the ancien tedious Ry Vs Stones stories and enjoy the mans great music. afriend recently asked me to do a mix CD for him, i struggled to keep it to just 4 CDs, covering all his work, solo, session, soundtrack, collaberations etc. It plays well, and wven with the disparate stles holds together, Ry Cooder disc 1 1. Angola (Johnny Handsome OST) 1989 2. Tattler

There is nothing better than leaving a gig and just having to walk to your hotel. and 15mins is maximum. as for central london, you can allways go there the day of gig or the next day. when the gig is somewhere like the o2, you have to compromise on soemthing. Have a good one and enjoye yourself.

The Jubilee line can be chaotic at the moment, they tend to totally close down either north or south of the river on weekends, so check. The Pilot Inn Pub just by the o2 and meeting point for Stones gigs does what I am told a good B&B and a fine pub as well. HEED Adrian's warning re. the Jubilee line. altrenative would be the speed boat thingie to London Bridge. Taxi back in to Ce

Top tickets for london £125, pre sales tomorrow. I'll be having a lie in. Too pricy. He was great at the Roundhouse a few yrs back (£20) and i'm sure it he'll put on a great show, but i'd rather bu6y the Mono Remasters boxset at that price, oh I have it, the stereo one than, or the Kraftwerk box.

Never meet her, but all from the Pogues just loved her. Great singer and not a bad songwriter either, and by all accounts a great mum and general good egg, whic means even more. Hope the there is some justice in this and closure for her family. R.I.P.

Of course its real, the evidence of their "real" existance is easy to find, do you think that for example they manafactured real vynyl albums and distressed them, then placed them in random second hand shops, I've seen them. The staging of the archive scenes alone would stretch most Hollywood budgets, it would have been easier to stage the moon landing.
