That's impressive. I thought the old Station Hotel was a posh eatery these days? I took a look at the tribute band's website and to my untrained ears they sound impressive. And for extra authenticity They're Londoners too! Tickets are only £17 too and they play for 3 hours (with breaks in between no doubt) A good night out for any IORRians in the London area. Are you going ?

Tony, I'd be astounded if they didn't play Angie down there. It's massively popular there, especially in Argentina. It's a real crowd pleaser and as others have said, it's likely to be crowd pleasers' tour. But for those travelling from elsewhere still well worth going as the audiences there are about the most excitable anywhere. I strongly considered Brazil as it

They certainly didn't leave her alone over the stuffed wolf episode. And they've reported on other Stones' family members plenty in the past, out of order as it most certainly is. It's what the Daily Mail do. They're fixated with Celebrity and the family of Celebrity. All they are interested in is paper sales, or more recently, website hits. Glad they didn't na

Quotecrawdaddy Yes ! Definitely Charlotte. Shows how much The Daily Mail know about The Rolling Stones and their entourage. Hiya Tony. I agree, 100% defintely Charlotte as the more informed of us on here know Not like the Daily Mail to get their facts wrong (perhaps deliberately) for the sake of a sensational story with no foundation whatsoever.

Bjornulf, Very glad to help you with some information about gigs for a change! As you said, Cardiff on July 11th was postponed due to Keith suffering a cut to his finger during the Hampden Park, Glasgow gig on the 9th. During his vocal slot he said to the crowd he thought he'd bust a finger but who gives a sh** and carried on playing as normal. However,it soon went septic and it was wide

Quotepaulywaul QuoteRollin92 QuoteNate It would be great if the played in London next summer Nate Long overdue imo VERY VERY VERY long overdue to be precise .... and not only London, the UK as a whole. What has the UK had since they re-emerged in 2012 ? Two shows at the O2 in 2012, Glastonbury and two shows at Hyde Park in 2013. Compare that to rest of the world ... other continents

Anyone going to the Wembley Arena gig in February ? I had a look on Friday but only far away seats left.I've never been to the venue so no idea what sight lines and sound are like there. Annoyingly as per recent trends, there was a lengthy presale limited to Customers of the Sponsors so not really a fair chance for everyone. And to PaulyWaul's delight for sure, there are many premi

They've sold out 3 shows at the O2 and added a 4th on Monday. Got tickets for said show, on 26th April Still plenty of tickets for that show if anyone wants to go.

He's lived in California for decades yet his Brummie accent is remarkably intact. I really fancy a show and will probably look to pick up a ticket on the night at the O2. But Brum will be the gig to do due to th

Scotland surpassed all expectations with their performance today. Robbed of a famous and heroic win by a bad referee call at the very end with no time to react. Sooo gutted. The ref ran away at the final whistle which speaks volumes. It's tough being a Scot at times.... . And true to form, we blew it with the other shape of ball last week. I hope someone, somewhere invents a sport we can

Gutted. just gutted. And I thought dodgy refs were confined to football. After a last minute dodgy call which handed the match to Australia, the referee sprints off the field without shaking the hand of sny player. He's supposed to consult the video ref where there is doubt. He did not do so. Nice sportsmanship

Quotecrawdaddy Well that would be good as a warmup two weeks before start of North America Tour. They got time to fit a couple more gigs in after Wembley Arena. They don't want the rust to set in. I might have a prior engagement cos there's another British band playing in South America at that time. Hoping I can get over there. And another all London band at that! Looking

Olly, Hospital accident and emergency departments in the Glasgow area are normally absolute carnage on match days between the pair. The violence often takes place in pubs and people's homes and not necessarily in the stadium and around. There's also a big spike in domestic violence after matches. Imho, there's a 0% chance of any other league ever accepting them. Which for me is

QuoteOlly grzegorz67, what do you mean by 'historic baggage'? There's plenty of history amongst the English clubs. Let's just say that I'm going to respect Bjornulf's (very sensible) rule of 'No religion or politics'. That covers it very nicely. If you're not Scottish or Irish and you want to know more just do some googling. English clubs do have pl

QuoteBig Al QuoteDandelionPowderman As there are norwegians in prominent positions in Celtic, the media here follows the club closely and hence people are rooting for them. A talented team, which still has a long way to go to establish themselves among the best European teams, imo. With the inclusion of Welsh teams in the English leagues, the likes of Celtic would only benefit by joining Swa

Great interview with Keith on top form. Gotta love Keith . Asked about whether his current good relationship with Mick meant that World War 3 is over, he did his wheezy laugh and said, "Well I guess so. No one surrendered...."

Just watched Ronnie on BBC1. He was his usual genial self and he was promoting a book of his personal diary of the year 1965, when he was playing in pubs and clubs around London with the Birds and recounting some amusing anecdotes. Ravi Shankar's daughter Anoushks was also on, playing the sitar.

It was indeed Robin Le Mesurier. He's the son of actors John Le Mesurier and Hattie Jacques, deceased in 1983 and 1980 respectively. 'Young' Robin is now 62, which is a shock to we Brits who grew up with his parents' work - Dad's Army and the Carry On films. Oooooh Matron !

Some great videos of this popping up on YouTube. Sounds like a great night. From what I can see, there's a real relaxed freedom about Ronnie's playing when he's in his own original band, playing songs he co-wrote. Rod too seems to be enjoying himself as a front man of a band rather than a soloist too. Glad all IORRians present enjoyed it, including a good few I was introduced to

QuoteBeast Maybe the question in the thread title was meant to say "would" rather than "should"? In any case, some of us already hold Keith in far higher esteem than could ever be bestowed on him by any grade of British honour! The vslue of any award depends on the credibility and credentials of the people who hand them out, which, imho makes knighthoods and peerages an abso
