The problem with the Stones vaults is that a lot of material (and this counts counts for outtakes AND live recordings) is, at least in Jagger's perfectionist eyes, not releasable "as is" and therefore requires a lot of work to knock it into a releasable state. We may think that is must be a snap for them to mix a 1972 or 1973 show and put it out, but I am sure that they would not b

As long as Stones live albums are more or less missed opportunities, as long there is no need for another one.

Good points, Debra! I even know two Stones die-hards who for principle reasons don't buy any Jagger solo stuff. They dismiss everything Jagger solo, and I had to force them to listen to Wandering Spirit back then... However, my only objections against Stones solo releases are when they are in fact quite similar to the band's style and approach and when a subsequent Stones album sounds l

I was "present" at Knebworth 1976, and at least in my memory Keith's "absence" there (if there was any, but I was probably too enthusiastic to notice!) could not - by any means - compared with Ronnie's "absence" in Cologne. There may be people who idolize the past, but at the same time there are also people who idolize the present. Where's the truth? P

Agree that it's most certainly an audience recording. It's a good one that captures the atmosphere almost perfectly. Unlike a soundboard recording, it clearly reflects the sound of the PA speakers at the time. The music sounds somewhat distant, a soundboard would sound 'closer', with better defined instruments details - but probably less atmosphere...

Really love your great uploads, Edmund! I am happy with everything you do, and for the start of your FLAC-postings I wish you could start with one of the most legendary Stones tracks....: @#$%& Blues (EP) This has both CS Blues and the Brown Sugar version with Clapton in the best available quality, and the 1973 live tracks are great too. HelterSkelter: Agree. Of course, Jagger is an insider who knows exactly what's going on with the Stones whereas we have to rely on our observations and stories we hear from inside the Stones camp. And despite the more or less general enthusiasm on this board about the ABB tour there were also clear signs of falling apart at certain times. However, they somehow always managed to get their
