But you should end your remark like: "...limited Ron is NOWADAYS." Ronnie still rocks and rolls, but when a song needs a decent guitar solo (like Sway) his limitations become only too obvious. So

My understanding is that as long as the Stones exist as an active band, we won't get any archive releases. The Stones consciously leave older live recordings and studio outtakes in their archive for one simple reason: They want keep releasable material aside for the time after the Stones have officially called it quits. Another reason may be that, as I once read somewhere, Jagger is no

If they really played Sway it means that they actually listen to fan's wishes...well, if they really did this one I take my setlist whining so far back. No matter how it sounded, I applaud them for even giving Sway a try!!!!!!!! That's adventurous, that's a real surprise, and that's what I've been missing until now. Well done!

Yes, that's why I always loved Ronnie's playing (don't get me wrong, I always loved Taylor's playing too, but it was a completely different thing). And that's why I am so concerned that the interaction between Keith and Ronnie seemed to go down the hill since the BTB tour.

Great idea. However, even with DSL connection, my listening pleasure is a bit spoiled by buffering processes now and then which interrupt the music... Probably 128 quality is a little bit too high for my connection.

After weeks of repeated listening, nothing could change my opinion that ABB is a great album. It stands on it's own, no need comparing it with older albums. But still three tracks don't work for me: Dangerous Beauty, Sweet Neo Con and Infamy. I'll doubt they ever will! Three times thumbs down - that means thirteen thumbs up - not bad, isn't it?

It's a standout track. Other songs on ABB are great, but this one is really special, I would even say extraordinary.

This topic is an amazing showcase of how people seem to be talking about a certain subject but effectively talk about different things. Speaking for myself, I always loved Brian Jones as a Stones guitar player. And I always loved Mick Taylor as a Stones guitar player. And even if as early as in 1975/1976 certain people claimed that Ronnie Wood "is not as good as Taylor", I always lov

OK, I stop setlist moaning and finally declare that the Stones should play a setlist like this everytime they go on stage from now on because otherwise more than 90% of the concert-goers will be disappointed: 01. Start Me Up 02. You Got Me Rocking (hey, hey, you got me ... great singalong!) 03. It's Only Rock'n'Roll (great crowd-pleasing singalong too!) 04. Don't Stop (t

Well, it's Markdog's opinion that I have no right to complain unless I'm going to all shows. Seeing it this way, then this board should be an exclusive resort for people who do nothing else than praising the Stones. I have always praised the Stones, always defended them against unfounded criticism. The Stones, after all, are my favourite band. However, it's my point of view th

Of course, people have different opinions, some like a certain song, some don't. That's not the point here. The point is that the Stones basically perform an oldies show, a few new songs aside. It tells a lot about the current status of the Stones as a live band that the non-appearance of Tumbling Dice is treated as such a sensation. I'd rather hear sensational news like "yeah, they did Lady Jane last night - for the first time since the mid-sixties!!!" or the like.

Yeah, it's a cool surprise that they missed another chance to shake things up a bit... Hey! Boys! Wake Up! You have a new album out! Skip one or two of the oldies in favour of new material!

But sometimes there are technical anomalities which simply require an overdub to make the material releasable. For example - if the performance is tight, but the vocal track has distortion, microphone pops, unwanted noise like cable bu

My bitching about the setlist (so far) is that they're touring on the back of a strong new album and so far rely more than 90% on oldies, or let's say 'warhorses'. If they do not want to change the setlist around too much - ok. Of they do not want to dig deeper into their rich catalogue and unearth songs they have never played before or at least songs that weren't played

Well, in my humble opion this reworked version sucks big time...it's not reworked, it's just played much slower...just like they did The Last Time during the BTB tour. Same can be achieved if you play your old 45 Single with 33 1/3 LP speed...probably the Stones did just this when they rehearsed in Toronto...not even noticing the mistake...! The Stones actually tried to rework older

Well, why not? It might happen if they're into it and their healths allows it. But the question is if people really want to see them carrying on with a greatest hits show, relying heavily on worn-out warhorses. The possibility of then doubled ticket prices (compared to the actual Bigger Bang pricing structure) combined with an all-too-easy greates hits setlist does not really let me look for

He doesn't know a thing about music or the stones? I have my doubts. There's a lot of irony, obviously, but also some bitter truth: "Skip the spectacle and play a theater." "Focus on the music, not the running around." "Scale back the prices." "On the other hand, lose some of the extra players. Does the band really need the small fleet of a
