Rolling Stones Radio
Posted by: Reptile ()

Hi everybody!

I've started a Rolling Stones internet radio. I air 100% Rolling Stones music, including bootlegs, both live and studio. I haven't gotten allot of songs on there but there's the occasional bootleg and ofcourse allot of classic Stones songs. I hope you like it!

Winamp or Real Player is required!

The url is:

I'll have it up as much as possible, but most of the time not 24 hours a day. Try not to leave it on when you leave, it's already much to ask for me to stream 128KB/S from my bedroom. There's a 36 people limit, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Enjoy listening!

I read in your program schedule that you'll be playing Macca's new album all weekend. Is that really true?

Strange. It's not all too quick, sorry. Do other stations from www.shoutcast.com just work? And do you have download-software like BitTorrent running? That's what caused it to buffer all the time with my friend.

Rep, you got "Mixed Emotions" rocking right now. Great choice! haven't heard this cut in a while. Great harmonies. One of Bernard's finer moments.
Requests...how about something from Tokyo '90?

Well that's a little too much too ask, haha! I could give you SOMETHING from the 89/90 tour.

"Highwire" is playing. Now here is one I have REALLY not listened to in ages. Wow! I didn't like this one back then but I was once again wrong. Is that Keith playing that laser lead guitar in the right channel through the verses? So that would be Keith on the main rhythm riff and also on the lead fills with Ronnie coming in with the very overdubbed solo. Man, that solo sounds like a little hamster come walking all over the tape all of the asudden LOL. That';s got to be the most overdubbed edit ever..I also wonder if that is Wyman on Bass.

Yes, there's quite allot of "lost" songs on there, like Highwire. I personally have always liked it. I guess they didn't find it good enough for Steel Wheels, so put it on Flashpoint. Too bad... It's hidden there on the end of it. Along with Sex Drive. It was also released as an anti-war song as a single in the UK, actually. That is Wyman on bass there. Ronnie is actually not on there, it's just Keith and Mick doing guitars.

No errors, just constant buffering, every
three seconds. I closed all other programs, etc.
Some here are obviously getting it fine, so
I'm open to suggestions! I have DSL, it gets
other 128kbps stations fine.

Okay Brown Sugar's on now.

If it's followed by HTW, JJF, IORR, and Satisfaction then I'm turning off my radio.

I'm broadcasting with Winamp using the Shoutcast plugin. It's pretty complicated, but you can find it here:

www.shoutcast.com

There should be loads of guides on Google.

I'm using 5.1. There's only one version of the plugin available, the 2.x version. You can just download the 2.x version it'll work fine with 5.1.

Great idea. However, even with DSL connection, my listening pleasure is a bit spoiled by buffering processes now and then which interrupt the music...
Probably 128 quality is a little bit too high for my connection.

Back to "Highwire" for a minute. Been gone for a day. One post says the guitars are no Ron at all and the next one says there is no Keith. It sounds a lot like Keith to me on at least two ofd the guitar trax. Anyone know who it be?

Re: Rolling Stones Radio

artur34; you can use the Winamp 2.x version of the Shoutcast plugin with Winamp 5.1.

So you download:

Shoutcast plugin for Winamp 2.x.
Winamp 5.1.

To ChelseaDrugstore.

According to the credits on a website it really is just Mick and Keith.

Hihwire and Sex Drive were recorded in 1991 at the Hit Factory studio in London.

Is it really Wyman on bass? I thought it was Ronnie.
