A, interesting Keith quote

An interesting Keith quote about the period after MT:

"Now it is much more a band as the Stones were conceived. The original idea was never to split any instrument up to a solo point of view, but it was the nature of the way Mick Taylor played and he played it so well. I enjoyed it and we made some of our best records with that set up too. But now, with Ronnie and I playing together, it's the same as when Brain and I used to play together, when we started the band. The whole ting is to get those guitars sounding like one as much as possible. Thta's the secret. The main idea behind the Stones is to create a sound and not listen to five musicians in separate boxes. We are there to create one sound out of five ingredients." Keith Richards

One would think from reading that quote that Keith might know a thing or two about playing in a rock 'n' roll band.

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

Yes, that's why I always loved Ronnie's playing (don't get me wrong, I always loved Taylor's playing too, but it was a completely different thing). And that's why I am so concerned that the interaction between Keith and Ronnie seemed to go down the hill since the BTB tour.

Yes, like I've said for quite awhile... Keith had to work to keep up with Mick Taylor... the whole band did...

With Ronnie, they are all working at about the same speed....

It's more of a "team" sound now... not saying that its better than in the Taylor days, justdifferent...

First I said, it... now Keith says it... so probably something for you Ronnie Bashers to think about

I'm glad you posted this. There was a posting a while back about the original cd's that came out. I wrote that I always hated that mix of Get off of my cloud, because of the way you could hear that one guitar riff really boldly, and I don't think that's how it was intended.

Thanks for the validation!
