I love every tour that the Stones have made but I believe 1978 is the best. It rocks hard, Mick gets loose for once, using profanity in between songs which make the shows sound real and wild. That's is rock and roll, baby Rock and roll, Mops

"Cry Though" is a very good album. His trademark guitar sound(at the time) was playing harmonics on his strat. It has an Hendrix feel to it but he goes a step further at mastering that technique. The songwriting is good too. Nice rendition of The Yardbirds "For your love" His voice is very peculiar and catchy. The next album " I came to dance" was to commercial. Not

Nils is featured in The Wolfgang Vaults and the little write up about the show mentionnes something about the "Keith don't go" song. It says that in 1975, it was thought that Keith wanted to leave the Stones! I had never ever heard that before. I believed that the song was about Keith killing himself with drugs. But Keith quitting his band,I don't think so! Mops

Midnight Rambler live and studio versions are great. Do we have to explain why again? Everybody knows it's a great song and The Stones themselves enjoy playing it a lot compare to let's say when they play "Don't stop" Midnight rambler goes the way a good story goes; good intro, lots of changes and tension,a climax with an happy ending!!! Dave Marsh also suggested in an article that the Rock and Roll of fame should be renamed Rock of fame. His argument was that the term "Rock and roll" wasn't representing the music anymore. I believe that is a stupid idea. Rock and Roll is the best thing America has invented! Don't touch it. Rock and Roll, Mops

"Slide on this" is a great album. I still listen to it once in a while and I enjoy it. To me it is his best album. With Bernard they form a great pair musically. The sound is fantastic and all the songs are very well crafted. His guitar playing is versatile;electric, accoustic, slide, B-bender, steel. "Slide on this" rocks Mops

While the early Gene Vincent's music is fantastic this should not stop people from listening to what Gene did in the late sixties & very early seventies. It is different but it is good. I just bought the 2 last albums he recorded. They have been put together on one CD called "500 miles" Gene sounds good and most of the tracks are well done. It isn't rockabilly music. It re

Why makes everything relative to big $$$. I love the stones because they are a good rock and roll band. Who cares if they don't fill up the stadium!! Imagine if instead of playing the stadium they had sold out 2 times a small arena in Chicago. People will think that they are successful. So $$$ don't matter. It is the music and the music is still very good so they should keep on playing

The guy is a "critic" which to me means he doesn't do anything. He sits down and writes about others who are actually doing something. I don't mind criticism even negative if it is based on facts. When it is only subjective, it is worthless; but here I am turning myself into a critic. Mops

Yesterday my pal "Stone" called me from France(I live in DC). He told me that he went to see the stones in Nice, france a couple of weeks ago. He went also to villefranche to take a pick at Nellcote. Then he went to a bar nearby and started a conversation with a guy in the bar. The man was a carpenter and he told my friend that 2 years ago he did some work on the roof of the nellcote ma

Handsome girls is the best boot ever. They play fast, mick is really loose especially compare to what he has become on stage since 1989. Keith's sound is pure rock and roll, dirty,on the edge.I listen to Handsome girls quite regularly. Hum,you know I need that shot of nasty rhym and blues. They don't play like that anymore. But I still love them. Rock and roll Mops

I agree. It is a great version of WH. I remember reading somewhere that Charlie rated the sessions for Stripped (in Japan) among the best playing the stones had ever done. Mops

Yeh. Mick looks like he fakes it. Open those big lips, mick if you want the juice to get into your mouth. Don't be afraid, it'll burn a little but that's alright. It's Mick trying to be Keith!!

Gilmour is boring. He is fat, doesn't move an inch on stage. David used to play long soporific solos while an inflatable pig was floating in the air above his bald head. So whatever david thinks, makes me laugh. @#$%& off Dave! Mops

Johnny Winter. I saw him 5 years ago and I couldn't believe it. It took him 2 minutes to walk across the small stage of the theater in Falls Church, Virginia. When he finally reached the microphone stand, he paused for few seconds, and shouted his texan "yeahhhh". He looked so frail, so skinny. At first I thought he was high, but I don't think he was; just old and sick. But he

What about 1978?? Mick's singing was wild. Too me, that is when he was really rocking, when he was at his best. Punk certainly made him rethink about his vocal style during that brief period and as a result he sang more spontaneously.

I think Keith Richards is the best interviewee in rock and roll. His mannerism , when it's a filmed interview, doesn't bother me at all. I find him rather funny to watch. I think he does those silly gestures and comments because he doesn't take himself too seriously. When he answers questions that seem to catch his interest, he is serious(ex : Hurricane interview). When it'

On the road... Masterpiece. Kerouac was the original wild one. A fast typist too 90 words a minute... He probably invented the prototype of the young american rebel which influenced characters played by Brando, James Dean. Then those characters on the big screen probably influenced early rockers from the 50's...
