Keith Richards was the coolest cat on the planet late 60's to late 70's.
The helicopter haircut, the classic riffs, the clothes, everything about him was cool.

The last couple of decades, unless he's playing a guitar, i prefer not to see or hear him - he's an embarrassment.

Ronnie and Charlie are the coolest now.

I'm talking doing 250+ shows a year. I'd admire Mick's ability to deliver 2-3 shows a week for a few months every few years. But, there are LOTS of performers delivering the goods practically every night, every year. B.B. King is still doing it at 80, for instance. I could recite 100's of others. And, these cats aren't raking in millions, either. Mick ain't even close to the hardest working dude. Blasphemy, indeed.

Much more annoying are fans who think they're Keith Richards. I dunno how many photos I have seen over the years of fat, old, balded fans who travelled to some Stones concert and somebody took a picture of him in his hotel room while he is lying on his bed, a scarf thrown over the lamp and a bottle of Jack Daniels beside him looking as wasted as possible. The annoying thing is, that they're serious. It's not meant as a joke or parody. And 2 days later they go back to their wife, 2 kids and the dog and doing their 9 to 5 job. Yeah, that's Rock ' Roll

I think Keith Richards is the best interviewee in rock and roll. His mannerism , when it's a filmed interview, doesn't bother me at all. I find him rather funny to watch. I think he does those silly gestures and comments because he doesn't take himself too seriously. When he answers questions that seem to catch his interest, he is serious(ex : Hurricane interview). When it's about answering annoying questions, he likes to joke around. To have a good interview, one needs good questions and a good interviewer.

And Keith, yes, these days, he's an embarrasment. I don't know how the guy from 25 X 5 turned into this crazy old man talking nonsense. Seems very detached from the band these days: never changes his two songs. Look at the set lists of the Voodooo Lounge Tour, he always made sure he changed the songs, and had a handful to play back then. These days, the set lists are done by Chuck consulting to Mick, without Keith being involved at all.

Hi everyone, Back from London and settled in finally..

Annoying. I would have to say even though I love Keith that I find it VERY annoying that when I want to hear his interviews on the tele, I can never understand him. He doesn't seem to speak as clear as Mick. Then he laughs, although cute with that raspy voice. I just would love to hear an interview where I am not saying, Steve, What did he say???? Otherwise, Love them all for whom they each are.

Kinda cool the way he waves that cigarette around, even thought I don't smoke.
