Superbowl - The Setlist
Posted by: Tops ()
Date: February 1, 2006 11:37

How Many songs are they going to play?

4 songs? They will go for their hits of course...

I hope for

Let's Spend The Night Together/Oh No Not You Again/JJF/Street Fighting Man -(unlikely because they havent played it on this tour)

A Setlist I'm not hoping for...but pretty realistic

Start Me Up/It's Only Rocknroll/Brown Sugar/Satisfaction

They have 12 minutes, so probably not more than 3 songs.

Dont be surprised if they do Aint too proud to Beg with a Motown artist as a nod to the city they're playing in

Other than that - perm any 3 from BS/JJF/IORR/SMU

It can't be just 12 minutes! McCartney played longer than that! " Live and Let Die" was a long tune plus he did " Drie My Car" and 2 others! Much more like 20 minutes!

They won't do Brown Sugar. "Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields" isn't going to work with an organization that wants family-friendly nothing objectionable. SMU (minus the dead man line) IORR, JJF, would work.

There was a really nice post two days ago, I think, by autodog who is one of the lucky ones who will be on the field for the show. Try to find it on a previous page. He was very specific that the Stones will play for 11 minutes. Period. I'm pretty sure he also said that they will play only three songs. He will attend a dress rehearsal Friday, in which the Stones will be in attendance, and he said he would reply back to let us know the set list (sounds funny to say set list with just 3 songs)

START ME UP
RAIN FALL DOWN (W/ Kanye West)
SATISFACTION

Kanye will cover the Detroit connection PLUS he's huge PLUS he can do the rap part from the RFD remix.

you're probably right.

Would be neat, though, to see a satisfaction/uptight-outasight medley from the stones and motowner stevie wonder, but I guess that would only be fun for those who were around in 1972.

It will be played very close to the vest (remember when the Stones were radical?).

Probably -

SMU
IORR
JJF or Satisfaction

What's the alternative? Watch scantily clad girls run around and tackle each other in the Lingerie Bowl? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Super-Bowl half time is longer than the regular season games. Commercials and entertainment extravaganza.Big $$$$$$.Kanye West and the Stones together? Your joking, right? Oh, well. We've had Justin Timberlake on stage with them. Some things must stay sacred!

anyone here following the threads about this over on shidoobee?
they're only going to play three numbers after all. check out the "stagecrew" thread: [p081.ezboard.com]
it's pretty cool that people we "know" from the various boards are going to be conveying the band to the stage.

If they want to keep this a clean show and not have an embaresement like 2 years ago they better not bring that low life scum Kanay West out on stage with them.

I'm thinking 4 songs. Paul did 4. 11 minutes sounds pretty short to me. 2001 had Aerosmith and a whole bunch of other artists. I'm guessing it'll be something close to Havo's. 1 new song (prob RJ), SMU for sure and 2 other warhorses.
