QuoteRocky Dijon What needs to be seen is what happens next now that Pete Townshend shared Mick's frustration that the album is taking so long. Keith and Ronnie separately did overdubs in May. The band was expected to regroup in the studio after the tour. Soldatti and others heard December, but it appears if it happened at all it was in November when Ronnie's movie premiered and Mick an

QuoteHairball From the Stones today (courtesy of MisterDDDD): "Wishing you all a very happy New Year and we'll see you in 2020! #happynewyear" Great news regarding the Stones touring, but no mention of new album.... And by the looks of those pics on previous page, seems they're content enjoying the holidays and lots of family time (they deserve it) - no time for wor

Well ya gotta remember .. As was said here .. it's selfish to expect an album or anything from them .. after all they never get in any quality family time .. The poor Jagger's ... their old man has drug them off to his hideaway at that dumpy island of Mystique (once again).. My guess is he is going to make them pick crops in the fields all day and scrub the floors by night .. ....

QuoteHairball QuoteIan Billen I am sure they have plenty of material .. over plenty of time they have spent in the studio over the past 4/5 years... The Stones have never worked on a single album for going on five years in all their career. You would think so, but with the disagreements over direction of the album, not to mention Universal thinking it was uneven, etc., you have to wonder how

There have been times when just Mick and Keith (and Don Was etc.) met in the studio a couple times ...and when Mick and Ronnie met as well in putting this together so far. There are more than likely at least three more sessions to add to the list above. This is not even counting them (Mick, Keith or perhaps even Ronnie) working on it alone ..at home or wherever ..which we saw Mick posting clips o

QuoteRocky Dijon We're presuming because no one has said they've been back in the studio since the tour ended, that they haven't done so at all. We're also trusting that's it's been "early stages" for four years because they recycle the same lines to the press when there could be a boatload of tracks, alternate versions, etc. that could be signed off on

QuoteHairball The old recycled news is picking up steam. A DJ on L.A. radio station KLOS excitedly exclaimed "new Stones album in 2020" and I almost got excited myself!, But she then went on with the old quotes from Ronnie "it's a puzzle", "hope", etc., etc.......lol... _____________________________________________ The album is on plans to be re

QuoteLazarusSmith Quotewonderboy Be interesting to see how they promote this new album. The Who have shown how to promote yourself in today's marketplace. Their tour was nowhere near as big as a Stones tour, but it was interesting and generated lots of press. Townshend and Daltrey did a ton of interviews. As usual, Pete writes the story for the reporter, but Daltrey has also been good this

I'll def agree with you there. I've openly said / stated this a hundred times over the past five years and I was initially slammed by most for saying that .. (now almost everyone here agrees).

Well .. I'm not one to rain on a parade or slam folks for doing what they wanna do or liking what they want to like .. However my honest opinion is it's far too 'generic' with that all too familiar pop-rock / country-fied sound. Sounds uninspiring .. like a song that should be in a truck commercial or something. QuoteRocky Dijon That must be it. They string along Universal, hire an expensive producer like Don Was for multiple sessions in London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris; book time with a busy producer and session player like Steve Jordan; book a couple sessions with a hitmaker like Carl Falk; book Keyon Harrold to play on a track or two....All this time and expense because they never intend to finish

QuoteRocky Dijon I would say any guess is good. We've had Charlie (with Ronnie) telling the press they thought the album was done a couple times already over the last few years. It sounds like it started with Mick and Matt's polished demos presented to the band, but Keith rebelled, but that's not likely to be confirmed. Looking at what they actually have said recently, Ronnie (

The Stones have been lazy when it comes to recording and in the past four or five years lazy as well as dismissive. Look guys (and gals) I'm tired about hearing how The poor Rolling Stones only have so much time to themselves or to do what they want outside of the band. They simply were lazy and dismissive about actually putting in the work .. it's just that simple. Artists c
