My thought's are still the same about the song .. Note: I want to make clear .. I listened to the song about three or four times the day it came out and about once every day since. I didn't just play it once and discard it. Not a loser of a song. It is fresh .. unique .. however still Im just not nuts over it. It's mmm ... 'ok'. That's where I am with the n

QuoteHairball Good to hear from you Ian, and good to read your honest input regarding the new song. But since you've been such an eager beaver to get new material (for years now), and your frustration was always evident with the amount of time they were taking, I guess this could be a case of "be careful what you wish for". Now they've finally released some new music, bu

QuoteHairball I feel slightly bad for Ian Billen who briefly mentioned in the new song thread that he doesn't like the new tune for whatever reason. As he was one of the the main proponents and campaigners for new Stones material, not the outcome I would have ever expected from him. If you're out there Ian, would be interesting to hear your reasoning for the dislike as your musical e

Well there they are ... in the studio 'TOGETHER' .. and that was before the tour was canceled. Definitely fresh .. but not sure I'm too crazy about it. Don't kill me everyone Lol

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotejlowe QuoteDandelionPowderman I will (it's too late to stop it now), but I probably don't have common sense The Entertainment industry will already be looking at Christmas and planning releases on an assumption that the worst of the crisis will be over. And the public may then be very receptive to making purchases. It's a business, after all. A

Quotegeorgelicks Mick's in Mustique, Keith in his home in CT and both Ronnie and Charlie in London. The album is the latest thing in their minds right now, I can't see a band of 70+ something near a studio for a long time. ___________________________________________ We don't know what is on their minds right now? They could have studio time tentatively booked in a month

QuoteHairball Sounds great Ian, but I think Mick is still writing songs and hasn't decided which ones will fit on a Stones album. In addition to that, Keith is keeping busy rejecting Mick's songs, and Universal is still calling everything uneven. Meanwhile, Ronnie aka "the puzzle", and Charlie aka "the new album?" are getting restless and bored.... Then there

Since the tour is postponed.... Perhaps they will get some work done in the studio? One may say it's risky .. but our studio will continue to record and I assume most will on a downgraded / less constant schedule. In our studio some nights there is only one person me and an engineer .. others there are six or seven of us which includes six musicians. Perhaps they could try a few wee

QuoteRocky Dijon A lamentable expression that should never have entered the vernacular. As for the new album news, if you think "Tell the Truth" isn't a real song or the bluesy one with the harmonica solo, go right ahead. I'm sure some of it is wrong. They've been tinkering with new tracks for nearly a decade now in some fashion. They've been semi-serious about it be

I'm sure Mick and Keith told Charlie they are still working on it, asked if he wanted to hear it or perhaps played it for him etc at the meetings as time went on. QuoteRocky Dijon QuoteHairball I acknowledged he knows how much work has gone in to the album - so much work in fact that he thinks the album should have been finished years ago! BUT it's a fact that he knows very little about the current status of where the album currently is - in how own words he admits this repeatedly. Not surprising. As Charlie has said before, he doesn't write

QuoteHairball QuoteMisterDDDD QuoteHairball Charlie's "where's the new album" comment was made over two years ago, and it was not because they album was anywhere near being ready. It was out of his frustration of putting in work and not seeing/hearing any of the results. To paraphrase: " we did a session here, a session there, and another session before that...so wh

Quoteretired_dog Ian, please check my three posts on page 436 on this topic, crosscheck them with what georgelicks posted on pages 437/438, find the matches and you'll most likely come to a better understanding of the situation. _______________________________ Thanks for the recommendation. Will do.

Quotegeorgelicks QuoteI've always relied and trusted in the words of georgelicks, but have to admit this about face has left me a bit confused. One minute a new album is close to being ready with enough songs to fill two or three albums, and the chances of seeing it this year is BIG. Now all of the sudden Mick doesn't care at all because the market is poor so why bother at all - inste

It is my belief that the only reason the whole .."No one cares about a new Stones album / probably wouldn't do that well etc. etc." .. >> is simply because they have been putting it off. When they were coming out with a new album in 2016/17 ...everyone was excited and we never heard all the negativity concerning if anyone cared or not. That notion and all these post
