I feel sorry for those who already are in Vegas. But from one point of view this is good news as I really was bummed to hear Mick struggle singing many songs at Desert Trip, and I thought it was an age thing and that it was all over. Now I realize it might have been something else that just father time and I'm stoked to see if Mick will get back his voice.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteMonsoon Ragoon QuoteGasLightStreet The mixes, yes, clearly a part of the reason many of the songs have never been played live. What constitutes "many" in this case? EOMS has 18 songs on it. From the album they've played: 1.Rocks Off 2.Rip This Joint 3.Tumbling Dice 4.Happy 5.Sweet Virginia 6.Shine A Light 7.Ventilator Blues 8.All Down T

QuoteHMS As long as he is healthy enough Charlie will never say goodbye. He´s loyal because he knows he practically owes everything to Mick/Keith. Where would he be without them? Nowhere. His horses, his mansion, his richess - it all comes from Mick/Keith. Charlie is the lucky guy who was there when they were looking for a drummer. Whenever Mick calls, Charlie will be there. He would nev

Haha you really have to be deaf to think that's a real Stones song. Awful song with poor lyrics, ridiculous singing and a horrible chorus!

I like the versions of ADTL from the very underrated 2007 European-tour. The version from Nijmegen 2007 is fantastic! It was too polished and perfect in 1995, same in 1972-1973. Frankfurt 1976 is indeed great!

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 QuoteRaiseTheKnife I think it's a combination of both great tone, vibrato, flow and speed. Taylor never had the speed, which comes naturally comes to anyone with enough mastery of the instrument. I'm not a fast guitar player, but I can still play any Taylor solo note for note after a day of two if I want to learn it. It may not sound like Taylor but fro

QuoteChris Fountain I saw several YouTube versions of Mixed Emotions from last week's show and it did not meet expectations. How could it? If a song like Gimme Shelter can't, how on earth could a song they haven't played in 26 years meet expectations? It's still better to hear them play rusty versions of lesser known songs than it is hearing them play a rusty Gimme Shelte

QuoteIGTBA QuoteHMS What I have seen and heard of them since 2012 makes me think that -Charlie is as good as ever. Thunder in right hand, lightning in left. -Ronnie plays better than in 2006/07, 1981/82 and 1994/95. -Keith plays less but more impressive stuff. He´s still the Riffmaster. Even the occasional bum notes sound right in their own special way. His intros are often marvelous/b

QuoteHansman Some songs were better than last week, some songs not. All in all it is a mixed bag for me. I think what we have seen and heard here is what we can expect from the Stones these days. I mean, it's great that they are still here after 53 years. It's unbeliveable and it makes me feel good, knowing that they are out and about. But I'm always brutally honest with me and to

Quotepowerage78 Yes hope they rehearse. Not luxury after the weak show last week. Yes of course Keith practiced guitar 6 hours a day since last Friday, Charlie played his drums every waking moment, and band together rehearsed 10 new songs for tonight's show.

QuoteHMS All very good excuses. In fact Exile is half great, half terrible. All because they were too lazy to carefully select the tunes to end up on a single LP, which indeed could have been one of their greatest albums ever. Also the mixes are among the worst in the Stones catalogue, even Mick himself agrees with this. There's a reason many of the songs have never been played live, it&#

QuoteTravelinMan You're talking about precision. Mick Taylor is was an extremely precise player born out of the B.B. King tradition of blues guitar playing. Doesn't mean he hasn't dabbled in dirty, crunchy tones though. Dirty is the opposite of clean and I suppose I mainly think of it in terms of a guitar player's tone. A dirty/distorted tone vs. a clean tone. Usually, wh

Do you mean which recording to pick up? Stay away from Milwaukee if you want an exciting performance. Indianapolis was treated with this tours BEST recording, Markbot, but the band is running on autopilot. Atlanta show, I would recommend, grab the jackflash tape. Great performance. The Columbus show is ragged, but it has an amazing Wild Horses and a charmingly rusty LSTNT.
