Hey Rockman Wino here in Melb - did you ever hear Skyhooks do Brown Sugar - a pretty good version which I think is on the Skyhooks live album of around 1978 called Live be in it?

The Hoodoos are very much still around as they played at the Prince band room in Melbourne last Friday night. I was supposed to be going but missed the gig, my mate went and said they were great but extremely loud! A new album is being recorded according to Dave Faulkner.

Agreed whiskey - I saw it last at Imax in Melb, always a fan of Scorses's work, thought Keith was very funny with his quips. Great version of Some Girls but Jack White's (and I like the white stripes) voice couldn't carry Loving Cup. Going again to see it at normal cinema so I don't have to look up Mick's nose next time..... Were you there Rockman???

I was 35 years ago that the Stones played at Kooyong tennis courts in Melbourne on a stinking hot weekend. I missed the 3 gigs in 2 days that they played - no doubt Rockman was there. This youtube interview was at Monsalvat artists colony just outside of Melb.

Having been to both Stones shows in Oz this year, I saw U2 last week in Melb and they were boring, I couldn't connect with the show at all and the political messages were getting a bit tiresome. Big difference in Bono's ability to keep a crowd on its feet compared to Jagger - no contest with Jagger & the Stones miles ahead of anyone else. I also saw Pearl Jam 3 days earlier than U2

Hey Deathgod - Mick said in Melbourne in April that Charlie will be back on Boxing Day - to watch the Aussies destroy the Poms in the cricket.

Park Hyatt in Melb last time, try the Mink bar in St.Kilda & Honky Tonk's in the city for Stones sightings. For eating out the Flowerdrum has been a favorite of Mick & Charlie's in the past. They don't need to do publicity they're the Stones !! Least of all need to appear on the Footy show.

Agreed MonkeyMan what a friggin' DISASTER - I tried at 9am then found out I had to wait until 11am which I did - the best seats on the floor had gone - plus $48 fee per ticket - they can stick it up their arses!!! I didn't see any seats on the floor at 9:10am for Melb in sections A & B - if the real fans can't get those as a choice what hope have we got. Onto Visa tomorrow mor

I reckon it will be postponed until next summer so Mick & Charlie can go and watch the poms get thrashed in the cricket.

The problem is a lack of stadiums available in Meblourne as both the MCG and Telstra Dome are unavailable due to the AFL football. There is a strong rumour that Flemington racecourse - home of the Melbourne Cup maybe used for the Melbourne show/s as it can handle 100,000 people at Cup time.

What about the idea of the Stones throwing in a few solo songs in their live shows - 2 hours doesn't do them justice - how come McCartney can play 2 1/2 hours plus and Elton is apparently doing more than 2.5 hours.

Hard to choose - it's all brilliant although I hated Exile when I first heard it when I was 13, it's essential in every person's cd collection!! Although it's on sale at JB HiFi in Melbourne for $10 as are Sticky Fingers & Some Girls - enough to make a grown man cry!!!! I hope the Stones improve up the set list when they get to OZ - for god's sake Keith drop the wo
