I can't see the Stones living in Adelaide for 2 weeks (no offence to our Adelaidean fans) so I'm tipping and hoping my hometown of Melbourne for rehearsals given that Frontier is based here.

Fantastic tour I saw them in Columbia SC where they played Heartbreaker, 2 shows in Melbourne and 1 in Sydney with the best version of Satisfaction I've heard. Yes Ronnie was pissed as a parrot a lot of that tour......not that I noticed. Also loved the incredible staging and the snake!

I've tried to listen to John Mayer but I think he is the most overrated musician (apart from Coldplay) going around. If the Stones needed another special guest Mick T would've run rings around Mayer!

Thanks Papo I'm sure he's a nice guy - he worked with mick on his solo tours and albums, I was just curious to find out what he's doing this tour. Maybe he could talk to Mick about the set list.....mix it up by the time they get to Australia.

I noticed that Matt Clifford appeared on one of the earlier Euro gigs I can't remember which one maybe Oslo and also noticed that he had signed the tour poster. What's his role this tour? Extra guitarist, keyboards or extra horns or just an extra extra??

Yes you're absolutely right jammingedward the nearby storms have cleared the Macedon area, no wind in town and quite humid. Only one other problem....I never had a ticket to Hanging Rock choosing the Adelaide option instead!

And what a great guest The Stones could be for Melbourne Cup, better than "Kentucky Derby Day".....!

Couldn't get to the GHS gig as still recovery from recent ankle surgery, maybe next time as it sounded like a great show. The version of You got the Silver that RRR played yesterday morning was superb. Shane O'Mara from the GHS band was talking about how difficult Coming down again is to play.....

Yes Melb is a great city for: rock'n roll, coffee, comedy but sadly no Stones tonight. "There seems to be a Stones tribute band playing tomorrow" would be at Cherry bar off Flinders Lane tomorrow night has the Goats Head Soup tribute gig with local musos - Cherry bar is always worth going to as it's run by James "the Hound Dog" Young who is a Stones fanatic. What a charming babe Alexandra is. And the irony is that the weather for Hanging Rock gig on Sunday is fine and warm! At least I got to see Bobby on Wednesday night in Melb - great band and versions of the 6 Stones songs plus George Harrison's What is Life. Bobby seemed to be in pain and is looking old......

No in past years the Stones have made a point of taking on big name local acts such as You Am I, Wolfmother, Jet & The Cruel Sea as supports. I stick to my theory that whilst there maybe a support act it will be a cheap one - string quartet anyone??

There was no support in Macau, haven't heard about Singapore. I reckon they are cutting costs and there will be no support except for maybe Hanging Rock as the amount of time people will have to sit in the paddock waiting......

That was the Warwick Hotel in Denver '72 tour. When I told my 17 year old daughter that Keith was releasing a children's book she asked: "Is it called how to take drugs safely?"

Great band seeing them live in Melb next month with Gregg Allman and his son. They have covered Wild Horses, Cortez the killer (NY), It Stoned me (Van), War Pigs (Sabbath), Spanish Moon (Little Feat). Best gov't Mule cds to get are: Deja Voodoo & High & Mighty. Live album The Deep End is also worth seeking out.

No news on any support acts for the Oz tour and in Adelaide they are still counting the new seats in the rebuilt stadium so tickets haven't been released yet. Maybe they will start at 7pm like in Tokyo so the boys and the audience can get to bed early.....unlike the Bruce shows!

Here's my ideas for set list improvements whilst the Stones are on tour with the at least some songs covered from each of the decades: 1. Jumpin' Jack Flash 2. You Got Me Rocking or Mixed Emotions or Love is Strong 3. It's Only Rock'n'Roll or If You Can't Rock Me 4. Tumbling Dice or All Down the Line or Rocks Off or Rip this Joint 5. Ruby Tuesday or She’s

These European shows along with the SE Asia/Australia/NZ tour is starting to resemble a farewell tour - one show in each major city or major festival. My guess is they will finish with a few more dates in other parts of the USA late this year and that will be it....

Greatest piano player the Stones ever had bar none! The biography on Nicky's life "and on piano" is an interesting read with his work with great musicians.

Having just seen Bruce last Saturday night in Melb I thought he played too long now where at times the audience was a bit dis-engaged especially at a large outdoor show. The following night Bruce played nearly 4 hrs which included nearly 30 mins of stories....!!! Still a great show but not as good as his last year's gigs indoors in Melb. The Stones have never been big risk takers for thei

a bit hard to compare crowd numbers as Bruce played 2 arena shows approx 8,000 and the Stones are playing an outdoor gig for almost 45,000.

"I keep thinking this is all AEG, more than the Stones"....ah maybe so but I'm sure it has the Stones blessing! Effectively what the Stones are doing in many markets is playing 1 show only knowing the demand is there and charging double the normal ticket price so therefore doubling their revenue....very good economics Sir Mick!
