Quote24FPS QuoteTitle5Take1 I know some fans don't like the new songs on 40 LICKS, but I do. I was just this morning exercising to the single edit of Don't Stop. Well, I guess you can find fans for every song, every album. Personally I can't imagine listening to the 4 new songs on Forty Licks ever again. They have about as much pull as listening to the last half of Voodoo Lounge.

Quote24FPS They first tried to 'Sound Like The Stones' in 1994 on Voodoo Lounge, as opposed to being the Stones. Mick tried to pull them ahead a little bit on Bridges, but by then he and Keith were both solo acts, with little writing cooperation between them. And A Bigger Bang is mostly rehashed riffs, except for Rough Justice. I still say the Rolling Stones, the real deal Rollin

Took the longest to grow on me of any of their stuff. I'll give it that, though--it did grow on me eventually! In truth, I only really started to enjoy it this year although I gave it many tries starting in 2005. Definitely way overlong, but for me, "Sweet Neo Con" is not only a highlight but one of the four or five best on the record, along with "Rough Justice," "

YES they do, and heaven only knows why ......... cos' it's a loathsome piece of song-writing. Why all the hate for YGMR? It's been all over this board for ages and I just don't get it

There were *seven* studio albums before Let It Bleed. The Rolling Stones The Rolling Stones No. 2 Out Of Our Heads Aftermath Between The Buttons Their Satanic Majesties Request Beggars Banquet U.S. albums don't count--The Stones didn't choose those running orders, cover artwork or album titles and there's plenty of overlap with their British counterparts anyway.

I love "Time Waits For No One" and "Fingerprint File" (title track also good but overplayed) but most of the rest of the album is pretty dull IMO. Least fave album they released from the Mick Taylor era, and from the 70s in general. It was sandwiched between two albums that are seriously underrated, each one having gotten its due much more over the past 15 years or so of cri

On their facebook page they announced "Ruby Tuesday in Philly tonight!" I hope that means they're actually playing that one tonight . . . After emotional, EXCELLENT performances of "Memory Motel" and "Whip" back-to-back last show, doing this one and "If You Can't Rock Me" as web-choice (I hope it wins! then we get another not-yet-played-tune for

Quotemr edward What About 'Jump On Top Of Me' in Paradiso in 1995? Man, totally forgot about this tune. Why on EARTH they left this off Voodoo Lounge in lieu of forgettable fluff like "Sweethearts Together" & "Blinded By Rainbows" is anyone's guess. This song is a killer; one of their best 90s tunes for sure! Didn't realize they played it live once

I gotta say that this is one of my top four setlists of this tour! I *LOVE* Black And Blue, it's one of their top 5 or 6 best in my book, so to have them FINALLY play the excellent "Memory Motel" in a set this tour is choice. Also love "Whip," one of Some Girls' best tracks, so that's awesome too. My other three fave sets of this tour have been the L.A. gig w

Lists are totally subjective of course, but I'm shocked they'd include the utterly bland "Mixed Emotions" on a list that also declares Steel Wheels to be "their best album since Tattoo You." Are they actually drinking the rock-critics-circa-1989 Kool-Aid?! That's their weakest album, bar none. Me, I'd drop that and "Waiting On A Friend" (which

Someone on the Stones' facebook just posted they were "across from the Arena, listening to a soundcheck of 'Ruby Tuesday,' so excited!" I hope this is true. Would be nice for them to bust it out at least once on this tour. On another note, I hope "Worried About You" wins tonight's vote. That or "Loving Cup" with Taylor (no need for the other

Quotemarianna I'm not sure why some people pull the misogyny/sexism card in regards to TS critics, and oddly enough, the people doing that tend to be men. I think if you ask most women, they'd say that it's misogyny/sexism that a person like Taylor Swift is such a huge success when more talented women in the music business haven't done as well as she has. It could be those wom

But to follow the tour from the point of view of internet is a bit selective and random-like... QuoteAdams I have no idea what people see/hear in Adele and her songs How about Jessie Ware though? I agree. People are now speaking up on the boards here that "she'd be one of the better guests," but she's not any better than Taylor Swift, who in all honesty sang "ATGB" just fine, thank you. Neither are my cup of tea even slightly. Adele writes boring songs tha

Quotejamesfdouglas Reading all the Taylor Swift hate here, it took up probably 80% of the posts here before, during and well after the show. I've always knows that there's a great deal of old, crumpy, misogynists that post here. And predictably, a lot of this bile sounds like classic, woman-hating nerds venting - just like any other female guest The Stones are rolling out. Without

I'd love these two every night. A two song acoustic set each night would be wonderful. How about Sittin' On A Fence, Dear Doctor, Factory Girl and Parachute Woman cycled in with those two? Two of any of those six each night would really highlight the variety within the Stones . . .

I love both the song and the album. I actually MUCH prefer ER to Some Girls, which IMHO suffers from too little variety and is their most overrated LP. SG is still a great record, but, save for IORR, I like it the least of every LP they released between 1968 and 1981. It's a little monochromatic; the first FOUR songs are all in A, one after the other, which makes it sound a bit samey. Th

I think it's a terrible opener, too. I don't agree that the version this tour hasn't been great, though--just that it doesn't work as an opening number. I may be in the minority here, but I REALLY think they dropped the ball when they relegated "I Wanna Be Your Man" to first the 2nd song after opening night, and then dropped altogether by fourth night of the shows
