I had a shot at a original Z guitar owned by James Honeymoon Scott for a reasonable price at the time but I passed because it had only one pick up. My only shot so far, I love this one pictured.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Did anybody say it was a Les Paul? Someone must have edited their post, because I can't see why Tony Jr.'s Zemaitis should be something else it is an inside joke, when I first came to IORR I got into a heated discussion with Mathais, I did not realize yet he was so beloved and respected here regarding all things Stones guitar.

Yes. One of the best bands from the 80's. Dwarfed by Guns and Roses their best records were sabatoged by Geffen as they poured everything into Sweet Child of Mine after Jungle's initial failure. The Tesla members are a close nit family that are capable of still making noise in music.

DJ does a good job. Every time a mix appears where he is heard clearly we are reminded of this. It is a bit messed up that he is so burried in concert The Stones motive to not showcase him is non-musical and one of their few mis-steps. Still Bill is better in every way. As a genuine member his clout kept the guitars in line, a job which Jagger takes on these days to varying success.Bill's

That maple black Tele looks like an 70's guitar refitted with an humbucker. I had the same guitar as a very early Squire quick I converted. Keith borrowed it for a surprise session but rejected it after a couple of hours and had his white Tele delivered. From then on he kept ordering his gear one piece at a time till we were cranking Mesa Boogies at midnight. He signed my Marshall that nig

Considering all factors this is the best The Rolling Stones can be. I'll rephrase, this band does not rely on excuses and fights hard for every song to be credible. We here are brilliant because we've chosen the ultimate band for fanaticism. The present day Stones on any given night has the potential to march along side their younger selves. Bravo to all the musicians and crew.

Quotegwen Thank you D&G, you provided an interesting reading subject on a sleepless night. It seems though that ash is generally sligthly heavier than alder. That would be a good explanation on why my '74 ash Custom feels a bit heavier than my '75 black Custom which should be in alder. Unfortunately you can't tell for sure on the used parts of the body.yes late 60's and mo

Most early 70's Strats and Tele's in black are alder. Black was a custom color back then as well. I believe white Tele Customs may be alder, Keith would know..,. Sunburst, natural, and baby poop brown are ash, they were not costom colors like black. There's nothing wrong with ash the alder may react better to the humbucker, Keith is one of the few that realized and explored the d

Quotegwen QuoteDoomandGloom I held one of Keith's 72 style customs, proably his #1. I believe it to be alder wood. More dense than ash. I'd guess it to be about 8lbs - 9lbs, which is a medium weight for a Tele. Also spent time with his white - brown neck pre-cbs Tele, That is a delicious vintage guitar. I thought Teles were usually made from ash? The paint on my '74 Custom is st

"I wasn't looking too good but I was feeling real well.". Straight heroin talk, I've pulled more than one drowning rockstar out of the toilet after a puke party and believe me they were having the time of their lives, head first in the bowl. Mick and Keith wearing those jackets at the same time was not a great idea, but neither of them is older nor uglier because of it, and they sound exactly the same, which is surely the main point. Unless Mick's jacket is what distracted Keith at the start of IORR :E HAH! They've often worn outlandish, colorful clothes

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteWild Slivovitz In "Sympathy For The Devil" Keith played it safe, which at this stage of the game is prefectly fine. Ronnie sounded out of key, though. Anyway, it's great they're back on the road! He started doing that on the Zip Code Tour. Sounds much better, imo.playing within his self. At this point reaching is not always the best move for Keit

Quotecorriecas Quotebeachbreak It seems the out of USA shows usually have more audience participation. i.e., When the Stones did Glastonbury, JJF was like a nuclear explosion between the boys and audience. The hardcore fans live outside the USA Jeroenthere's something to be said for listening to a concert rather than singing out loud out of tune for 2 hours.
