After these shows I am finally convinced the Woody is the best guy for the job. Taylor was great on record but always out of tune in historical films of the band. What he offered in these 4 shows many guitarists could have done as well. Ron Wood is a Rolling Stone and raised the bar in his sobriety. The best Midnight Rambler was in Brooklyn sans Taylor. Hats off to Ronnie..

Both performances at O2 seemed good to me but I can see how the boys may have thought he was over the top. Anyone who's familiar with them knows everyone associated is on thin ice. Chuck holds it together, there was allot of chaos on the stage in Brooklyn and he kept it glued together. Certainly miss Stu, Billy Preston and Nicky but Leavell is working his ass off for this band.

They should not quit or play smaller venues, The energy for the 50th anniv. was perfect but if they tour full tilt perhaps a more varied show? Angie, Loving Cup, more work for Chuck less straight up thrashing. If Keith needs to sit on a stool, cool. Them proving they're still young is pointless.

Great show in Brooklyn, Stones prove they are forever young but is that really necessary? I'd like to see them kick back a little on stage like the elder statesman they are. Remarkable, Midnight Rambler was one of the highlights despite M.T.'s absence, Keith and Ronnie love a challenge. I was there to see the Stones and didn't care about guests.
