QuoteRaiseTheKnife QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotedrbryant QuoteDandelionPowderman O2 I Rambler in Roskilde I saw the video of Roskilde MR - 15+ minutes and intense. That was great. It was breathtaking, imo. It was also Mick Taylor's last european gig with the Stones. And more importantly it was Bobby Keys last gig with the Stones ever!

video: Around 2013 when the rumors of new music from The Stones began I started this song "Heal My Soul" with a fantasy they'd record it. It is very simple sort of a thank you from one Glimmer to the other. My band Lex Grey and The Urban Pioneers eventually recorded it, switched some gender stuff and released it on our current album. The song is charting for radio a bit, we are

As far as videos... Mick Taylor's first CYHMK I think in Anaheim? In person it was the first Philly show PIB. I don't know why really but the outro was spectacular, I had great seats it just was special for me. Really the whole 4 year period was great, every show I attended I had to pinch myself, seeing Bobby Keys play off into the sunset, really something I will always appreciate, a

Quotedcba QuoteDandelionPowderman I think the soundboards at that time only had 3 tracks. Same with the Kinks live album and Got Live... I think you're right. Iirc the Dylan 1966 "RAH" album was recorded over 3 tracks. Maybe the machine engineers used only had three imputs = recording with three mikes was all that was possible...these shows were actually recorded to higher st

Yup Bill is one of the greats. I can't understand any of this belittling stuff. He is an essential element in their golden era. Live he dictated the show and led the guitar section. Those who are critical of him or Mick Taylor drank the Koolaide.

QuoteDandelionPowderman You forgot to mention that Clapton's sound is dubious at best. Not without significance for a band like the Stones. unsure or uncertain : feeling doubt about something : causing doubt, uncertainty, or suspicion : likely to be bad or wrong —used ironically in phrases like dubious honor and dubious distinction to describe something bad or undesirable as if it were a

Well this was known a bit back, the speculation that he'll join the tour is conjecture. Eric has had a bout with some health problems but perhaps "joining" The Stones would be less stressful. If you're going to add a 3rd guitarist within the same pedigree as the band it's a short list. Clapton will change the sound for sure, we've been thrilled to endure what'

QuoteHairball QuoteHMS Oh yes it was THE highlight to watch MT strumming Satisfaction on acoustic guitar The Stones are able to do exciting performances of Midnight Rambler without MT, only dedicated Taylorites may have missed him the last time around. The Stones do not need help from a grumpy, haughty ex-member. And they do not need Eric Clapton on stage. I guess he has other plans than be

Quotestonesrule HMS, I wonder if you ever met or spoke with Mick Taylor or saw him play in person, with or without the Stones? "His haughtiness" is a phrase many would disagree with.yup. I knew people in Dylan's camp at the time Taylor was playing with Bob. Everyone said he was a terrific person and great companion.

Staples Center which I saw here. The whole Taylor tale led up to this moment. Jaws were on the floor, the great 2 Stones soloists giving us Sticky Fingers, stuff dreams are made of. Keys, takes the long way leading up to Taylor, no concessions, Bobby is rock and roll. Our Texas Coltrane gave us every drop of his earthly soul, He loved us all,. I can feel it right there.. Regarding Bill. The reality of the mortality of someone you love changes people's perspective. The Stones are family people, I believe his last appearance left everyone hollow.

Now we flash forward to 2016... Would not a new Stones "blues" album benefit from an actual lead guitarist who was featured in The Bluesbreakers? I anticipate the new album greatly but if the showcase solos are played by Gary Clarke, John Mayer or Eric Clapton instead of MT, it is the fan of classic Stones that loses out. It would have been.nice if they had settled this in 2012 inste

If indeed he took a full payout when he left then that chunk of money really had to sting the band at the time when they were struggling personally. There is probably some resentment since they had to pay out when they were vulnerable. Taylor it appears expected the whole thing to collapse when he quit, in hindsight a selfish move towards a band that put him in the spotlight of the world. If th

Taylor needs to reacquant himself to the simple facts of the music biz. You must stay aggressive, competent and aware to continue working. He is an iconic musician whose greatness is unquestionable but being entitled does not come with. You can ask Jaco, Coltrane or Dicky Betts, they all forgot about the job part at points in their careers. Taylor simply needed to show up in London, ready to a

Quotemarianna The posts are likely made by someone other than Mick, but someone who knows him that is not on a payroll. He does have a knack for picking people.sometimes he uses the third person and the first person in the same post. Amateur presentation from an icon, simply unbelievable. The Stones were uncool about the opening and not inviting Taylor but his reaction is way over board. I can't believe his posts are still up. It's just an exhibition after all, blown out of proportion because Taylor is mad about everything. He should realize by now they are not his pals. Thank goodness there are still performance royalties and he had songwriter credit on albums like E
