QuoteRoll73 QuoteStonesTod they were looking ahead and trying to produce something in the here-and-now that wouldn't make a bigger bang seem so bloody awful. genius. Didn't work though did it. ...That's CHEAP. Replying to ( & quoting) someone that can't answer (anymore)... at least not without blowing his cover.

...If you're talking early garage, then the Sonics are n° 1 as arch-punks, imo. If you're talking atitude & violence on stage, I think Jerry Lee Lewis is a tough act to beat... (ever seen tapes of his live gigs?!? My, my.) If you're talking guitar sound, I never got passed the solo by Buddy Holly on Peggy Sue as being the first piece of punk guitar... Just a thought.

Quoteandrewt Eloquent and masterful post Doxa. As was Paulywaul's and others. All this has been true for a while but it is finally laid bare on this tour. ...Since you sum it up so nicely, imo, I only need to quote your post (and not Doxa's and/or Paulywaul's too...) and put some under it. thx!

There really can be no other Mick's voice is so unique that nobody really harmonizes with him that well. Except Keith. It works for some reason. Or maybe it doesn't and I'm just used to it. It did take a little while for his voice to grow on me, the first time I hea

Mick Taylor's talent being wasted... ...quite true; he's been doing that himself, ever since the mid 70's, in fact. But I'd never hold that against him! He's welcome on stage, as far as I'm concerned! For as long as our band lets him.

QuoteMunichhilton Elvis would have absolutely stunned with Shine A Light or Let It Loose. But he prolly would've enjoyed doing Hangfire or Memory Motel more... ...Hell YEAH!! Shine a Light... Let it Loose... Hang Fire... !! Oh, my... All three would be blindingly good. Come to think of it: Elvis really would make a personal gem out of évery Stonessong. Make that: every song - period.

Which Stonessongs you think Elvis & the TCB-band could have pulled off neatly ( = honourable to the original & acceptable to us, Stonesfans), you reckon?! Not very much qualify, I guess. Although he sure would have given a certain 'ring' to either of them. My money is on "I got the Blues". Would have loved to hear an Elvis-rendition of that one.

Quotetatters Expect to see some very high-def pro-shot video on youtube by late this evening. The purpose of this gig is basically to make a commercial in which the Stones are seen to be blowing the place apart in hopes of selling some tickets for the tour. The fact that 400 people will experience the thrill of a lifetime is a fortunate (for them) coincidence, but it's of no concern to the S

Quoterambler44 Quoteslew The thing about a song like Worried About you is it showcases just how great a frontman Mick really is its a really good song for him to showcase everything he can do as a frontman. He starts at the electric piano in falsetto and then he can venture away and just take the microphine and be Mick Jagger. A real highlight for him to perform and showcase his talents live.
