I missed the 1978 tour in the New York City and New Jersey Area: After having seen The Stones in 1969, 1972, 1975, and 1981, I missed seeing them in 1978. Even though I lived in the NY-NJ area, 55 miles from NYC, and constantly monitored WNEW FM and WPLJ FM, I never heard of any tickets being offered in that area, so I missed that tour.

I researched this subject several years ago and my findings were that the 1994 Virgin Master was the best choice. Note that this is for CD. I have no information about vinyl, although I have the original vinyl release from the summer of 1972, which I purchased the week it was released.
