Although not "modern era", I saw them at the Denver Coliseum in 1972, and they only played for just over 1 hour, as I remember it. One of the shortest shows by any band that I ever saw. However, the show remains the premier concert of my lifetime.

I just took a look at jerryleelewis.com and saw no mention of this. I take it that on Oct 27th at 8 PM ET you will be able to view a program as advertised in the original post above and it can only be viewed at jerryleelewis.com ? A bit unclear, I daresay.

"Still Life" is a great live album, and is the only live album in my collection other than "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" and "Brussels Affair". What really makes the album is the inclusion of a little diversity (for a change), with the two covers: "Twenty Flight Rock" and "Going To A Go-Go". Yeah, Yeah...I've heard the statement that &qu

Someone mentioned "Tattoo You". I would rate "Tattoo You" higher than "Some Girls". It really should have been included somewhere, maybe in addition to "Some Girls". On a side note, I looked over the top 50, and I have 30 of those in my collection.

I have been doing that for years, all the way from the days of cassette tapes up to the days of MP3's. Invariably, "my Stones albums" are usually better than any compilation that you can buy. (in my opinion) My latest one is what I thought were unreleased bootlegs, along with some Voodoo Lounge cuts thrown in, and other miscellaneous stuff, but I am finding out tha

1. "Stewed and Keefed": instrumental. Note: I just researched this one and it says it was released on the album "Genuine Black Box 1961-1974", which I never heard of. Oh well. 2. So here's another favorite one: "Bob Wills Is Still The King": Live, 2006, at Austin Texas, and written by Waylon Jennings.

Someone said that you would not "own" them, that is, downloads of songs, I take it. Well, the way I download them, I definitely own them, because I do literally NOTHING on a cloud, and anything downloaded would be stored to computers or thumb drives.

I just watched a video yesterday of Charlie Watts being interviewed, where he stated that he did not like the songs that had been written for the "new album". If he doesn't like them, I am sure I wouldn't either. Excuse me if this has already been posted, but I do not have time to read 458 pages on the subject.

It is almost universally known fact that Gram Parsons was great, had a big influence on many musicians, including The Rolling Stones, and would have gone on to be one of all time big country music stars. Richards said, "He taught me country, and he taught me piano". The negative derogatory crap about Gram Parsons, is starting to remind me of the likewise negative crap th

I never followed the "Disco sucks" thing, but on the other hand I never listened to Disco in the day either, except maybe The Rolling Stones songs listed above. Now, I realize that Disco was an important genre, but still no regrets now for being a non-listener back then. I do have a self-made "album" of about 40 Disco songs from the day on my mp3 player, and I do listen

Don't get a Chinese acoustic guitar. Note that almost all of them are in your price range. Try the "Seagull S6 Original", made by Godin Guitars, in La Patrie, Quebec, Canada. It is simple to find with Google. Read their entire webpage. It is packed with information. It falls into your price range. It has been stated that it is the best guitar you can buy for unde

I don't specifically remember, but being a big listener of WABC AM in New York City from 1962 to 1969, I am sure it was right after they hit the USA big in the early 60s. As far as when did I start to get into The Stones, I would have to say I started to get into them after seeing them live at Colorado State University, November 7, 1969. And when did I get into them fully; I would have

Speaking of "Emotional Rescue": In my house, at this point, "Emotional Rescue" gets more play time than "Exile On Main Street". However, that could be because Exile got literally tons of play time from 1972 to 1980. I believe that the ones who do not like "Emotional Rescue" on this forum, and it is widespread from what I can see, simply don't ge

They can't get back on the road. We are in the middle of the worst pandemic in 100 years. Yes, they could do a "Tatoo You" type album. In my opinion their song writing days are over with; judging from what they have released since "Steel Wheels". That's why they should stick to a "Tatoo You" type album. Either that, or let "Blue and Lonesome&

"Still Life" is a great album. I really like it. It's short and concise. "Hampton" is too long. Everybody I knew loved it at the time of it's release. To me it went hand in hand with "Tatoo You". The band was on a roll from 1978 to 1981 with 3 great studio albums in a row, and "Still Life" was a great closure. It was the last thi
