i am sorry to admit this, but I don't understand the meaning of the quote in the subject line. If it's saying there's no use for Mick to try to get out of being a Rolling Stone, then how can he be happy??? someone pls explain!

Interested in anyone's thoughts on Glasgow 2006? This thing is hot from beginning to end. Proves that when they're on, they can dominate, regardless of era. GREAT song selection. A set list for the die-hards. I think I'd nominate this as one of my top ten boots. Where was it recorded btw? Not an arena or stadium show, that's for sure.

I'm most definitely not an apologist for the Stones machine and all. But what I think - honestly - that Chuck was trying to say was, "everyone in the band is into it and having fun, and offering ideas. I can't remember the last time Ronnie and Charlie were so into it and were offering suggestions like they are now." I know this sounds silly, and I'm not a particular fa

Quotewhitem8 I am reminded of the glorious song c o c k s u c k e r Blues..." where can I get my ass....?" Buy one of those tickets and you have found where you can get your ass rooted. that certainly sums it up

I had the opposite reaction. I didn't like the song before; now I like it a little more. This is an excellent video - pretty damn violent and edgy.

Listening to the Phoenix bootleg - it occurs to me that Rough Justice sounds a LOT like Mixed Emotions. Somehow I have never noticed this. Do others hear it? Just curious...

Quotestonesstein This is FASCINATING!!!! I love reading all this, and as the result, I am inspired to list my "bottom-10" Stones' songs of all time and some brief commentary: 1. Anyway You Look At It - just positively horrible by any band anywhere. Drags along and perhaps the absolute worst Mick "ballad" ever forced upon the Stones. They ought to be ashamed! 2. Ba

The 3rd verse is abandoned completely despite Mick trying to get his attention ! sc uk The third verse starts at 2:32. Mathijs on my version (mp3) it starts at 2.28. That's just because Keith was so into it he sped the tempo up by 4 seconds

QuoteGumbootCloggeroo Quotepeoplewitheyes good reading. thanks. by the way, what city is that all over your blog - with the bridges and tram? It looks like Pittsburgh to me. I like that city. quite right, it is my hometown and true love, Pittsburgh. The blog used to be just about the Pittsburgh Pirates, but there were other things I wanted to write about, but I wanted to keep the Pittsburg

QuoteGravityBoy QuoteMrMonteLove You Live is a fine live album, but more about the memories it evokes of a certain time and place than anything else. I partied hard to that album back in the day! After years of slagging it off to all and sundry... I'm now loving it. It's a flippin' good album. IORR is tremendous. it is indeed

I was thinking about that after watching it...but I think the purpose is just to capture the RISE of the Stones. More important, though, to me at least, is that Jagger and the boys produced or executive produced this. It's in the end a bit of PR...nicely timed for the 50th hoopla...and not a real documentary in the sense of digging deep into some unpleasant events. It's entertaining

it was pretty enjoyable, especially the music. A bit curious the way they build up to the Ronnie Wood era and then covered that era in about five minutes...if the documentary was about the early days, why not stop when Ronnie joined the band? Oh well, that's a minor quibble and who cares really. Fun to watch, especially since the I broke my toe about three hours earlier and had just
