So, is Lucic supposed to leap over Miller? Teleport himself? Whatever. Miller is a bigger goon for swinging his stick like a helicopter blade. If the Sabres were so offended why did'nt anyone drop their mitts? BTW...that "goon" Lucic is a 1st liner, 30 goal scorer and a Stanley Cup champion. If the Sabres were offended they should have gone after him...but they all pass

Quote pinkfloydthebarber - well I know that; I have music in all sorts of different formats, MP3, flac, cd, vinyl, you name it. Nothing beats vinyl, IMO. I know it doesn't take any 'effort' to listen to flac over MP3; my comment was based on how some listeners seem to fixated with the 'this is so much better than that' when I personally can't notice any differen

*The second capo is to mute the unwanted sympathetic drone behind the capoed frets it doesn't have anything to do with bashing those string!* - are you saying the second capo is just a string dampener and not really holding the strings all the way down? -

Yep, and they (Americans) have that whole black Friday deal going on too. I live in a border town so stores here have to compete, so I reckon I am gonna get a buch of new hockey sticks on the cheap, tomorrow. Priorities are priorities.

What about the Cotton Bowl? Didn't the Stones in '78 play at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, anyway?

*Sabres have a big game Wednesday at home against the Bruins. The big rematch since Lucic decked Ryan Miller and no response.* - well the Bruins are my team; Gaustad took on Lucic and got beat. IMO Lucic could have run Miller over like a bus if he wanted, but he tried not to. Miller had a hissy fit. Bruins are on a roll; 10 straight wins!

I dunno what they'd play but since its a 'historical' document I'd love to see the band exhibit that history and play a mini blues / rock and roll set, like how they started off. That would be just Keith, Jagger, Wyman and Charlie. Brian's gone but Keith wound up doing all his parts anyway. Then let Taylor play on the '68 to '74 stuff they choose to do and Woody

*The first part of your post makes some sense but,the second part does not make any sense at all to me. Listening to lossless FLAC files doesn't REQUIRE any more effort than listening to compressed MP3's. Sure, depending on the variable factors which I listed earlier in this thread, some people may have to listen more closely to notice a difference however, critical listening is not a requ

yup, that finale of Rip, Flash and SFM with the three woo's is just nuts.. I searched near and wide to find a suitable version of that 'take' of SFM as I found on some 'takes' the three woo's were louder or softer than others.. and I kept searching til I find the loudest ones I could. The whole show builds to that moment. As as aside, on the new Brussels Official

I like this new Brussels thing but I also like the previous boots, too. I prefer actually the GS version from the boot (the one where when MT starts to solo Keith riffing gets really loud - first show Brussels? ) to what is on this official version, and I prefer the Wembley SFM as well, with the 3 woo woo woo's!!! at the end.... to me that's the definitive end to a Stones concert... bu

this whole thing 'I can tell the difference between flac and MP3 at 320' stuff is kinda like 'this wine is a $25 bottle and its better than that $15 bottle.' whatever, it still gets you pissed. just enjoy the music. Personally, I don't want to waste my effort straining to listen for barely audible differences, it wrecks the enjoyment of the moment.

Ya know, it's pretty near impossible to make this call; the whole thing is great. The new version of 'StarF**' here is fabulous, and such an upgrade soundwise from the previous boots IMO; same for Heartbreaker. Keith's Chuck Berry solo in Star is in your face loud and just rips ! As for YCAGWYW I'd prefer a longer MT guitar solo and shorter sax solo, but there is interest

The whole idea of 'listing' the 'greatest' guitar players at all, is, well, insipid. There's a million 'greatest' guitar players. RS magazine still has credibility? I'm shocked they haven't got Bieber in the Top 10. Anyways it goes to 11.

Jeff Healey and Stevie Ray Vaughan; not that they remind me of Taylor's playing or anything but because both those guys could propel a song out of the stratosphere if they wanted. Stevie's tone when he opens it up in 'Life Without You' just after the 3.00 minute mark always sends chills up my spine. The emotion just drips off of that sound. And Healey, well, he lived

-Now check out this one from his new album. Give this man four chords, and he will break your heart. This has David Hidalgo on 8-string Veracruz guitar- . I like the old blues guy (can't remember the name) who said 'gimme one chord per song. I don't play them fancy songs with more than one chord. If I come up with another chord I'll save it for another song." . Dav

Are there any London 'Stones Tours' you can take that go to all these places? Edith Grove, Mapesbury Rd, Chelsea Walk, all the (past) homes, recording studios and clubs where they used to play etc? I mean being from Canada and all, if I go there I'd like to see all that stuff.

j geils band anybody? damn, they should be in for 'full house' alone. stevie ray vaughan too, he revolutionized blues in the 80s when hairband crap was all the rage, bless his soul. I'd say 'the replacements' just b/c they are favorites of mine, but they are under the radar.
