'''The Stones at their pinnacle......''' - - - i mean the 78 version is ok, but like the version taken from the 1971 Leeds show and the B side to Brown sugar (I think) a million times better. keith's guitar work is nastier, and Jagger didn't flub the lyrics. and its got Stu's boogy woogie. very cool version of this track as well, on Bob Seger

today's style of digital computer generated music often does sound like crap. no warmth. i think it often sounds like crap, because it IS crap. if you use lousy digital equipment it is inevitable the sound will be harsh, cold and distorted. analog tape certainly had its limitations (copying / tape degradation, noise or hiss etc) but there are still sounds that were produced on analog, ie oft

i'm a big Neil fan; already got my tickets to his upcoming show here (Canada) next October. be great to see Neil and the Horse again. what Young is doing with Americanan isn't particularily new; both Dylan (Good As I Been To You, World Gone Wrong) and Springsteen (The Seeger Sessions) have done similiar things. some of the inspiration for this dates back to last year's Bridge Schoo

i like the inclusion of prodigal son and you got to move; obviously they weren't included on the original release of Ya Ya's because of the time restrictions on single disc vinyl; both are great fun to listen too, if not a little out of tune. i guess my question is why were these and satisfaction etc put on a whole seperate cd disk in the more recent re-release, instead of being include

*******So, you guys who live outside UK, where do you live and what interest if any is there is these proceedings?****** ----------- well, as a Canadian, let me tell you where I stand with this monorchy stuff. as a canadian I'm annoyed every time our government blows money on giving "our queen" and her family a vacation. i'm annoyed a picture of her is even on our money.

axl rose is a boob. G&R are possibly the most over rated band ever...lets face it, one decent record (first one) and then the illusions, which were spotty but decent in spots. i prefer the izzy stradlin solo stuff, whch he is still churning out, over any G&R; its way cooler and way more Stones-ish

yeah so aerosmith brought in hired song doctors ... Fairburn, Child, Vallance etc.. after 'Done With Mirrors' they were pretty much fried and done for. still, for example, even with the song doctors for say 'Permanent Vacation' the album was still horrifically poppily produced. maybe the sleekness was typical of the times, I dunno. Desmond Child is a unimaginative, schmaltzy s

wow, this thread STILL has legs eh? what ever happened to the Dixie Chicks? they didn't say anything as vulgar, vile or as stupid as Nugent, and their careers were ended overnight ... hmmm...oh wait......Nugent would have to actually have a career, for it to end overnight

I am currently reading both Dave Grohl's 'This Is A Call' and 'Playing With Fire', the book about ex-hockey player Theoren Fleury. Both are great. Before that it was 'Fall of Giants' by Ken Follet. Entertaining. Before that, 'Tough Guy' - the Bob Probert story. Another hockey read. That was a good read. The guy was outta control. Before that, the Steve

saw the Blushing Brides a couple times last year; once in Boston and once in London (Ontario), they are a Stones 'tribute' band. very entertaining and inclined to play 'obscure' tracks and B sides as opposed to all warhorses, all the time, which is cool. they started back in the late 70s when the only other 'tribute' bands were beatles and doors ones. during that per

i don't care about 'hidden messages' or about 'dropping hints' or any stuff like that. i thought it was a pretty darn good show, by snl standards, at least. ok, we all know snl skits can be lame, but Mick was funny; poking fun at himself and especially at Steven Tyler; hilarious. the gospel start to 'the last time' was cool. mick and foo fighters ROCKED. loved t

********Sorry, but Def Leppard sucked in the 80's and they suck even worse playing the local Holiday Inn in 2012. I would imagine a Def Leppard show in 2012 is the equivalant to seeing Spinal Tap...For him to compare himself to acts like McCartney, The Who and Pink Floyd is laughable.********** - TOTALLY agree, man. they even have names like Spinal Tap.... *******Joe Elliott on why Leppard only play hits live****** --- um, i'll wager a guess that it's because those are the only backing tapes they still have? def leppard was SO anti-septic, their records sound like they were recorded in hospital operating rooms; over produced crap. two songs does not an album make; and that is being overly polite and generous. these days they are ki

****It's in F.***** - well yeah, because of the capo but it starts with an arpeggiated descending run based on a D chord (with a capo on 3) that takes a detour through an A before getting back to the D. it repeats itself, then the detour is through an E minor, also played twice so if you mean with the capo, that its in F (in that the D becomes an F) well then yeah
