I sense a theme emerging here Dandy! Good that you're picking the authentic UK versions of the albums.

And since you ask...

1. Down Home Girl
2. You Can't Catch Me
3. Down The Road Apiece

No, it's much closer to The Rolling Stones, Now!
12 X 5 was a collection of singles and EPs, similar
to the German Around and Around collection.

NOW! was released as album number 3 in the US, though.

Yes. When I started buying records in the spring of 65 there were three Stones LPs available; No.1, No.2 and Around and Around. So I naturally thought Around and Around was no.3. It was only years later that I discovered that it was actually a collection and that it came out before No.2, so No.2 was actually No.3! (In continental Europe, not the UK)

Down Home Girl
I Can't Be Satisfied
Uhm..it's tough because I hate to leave others off, but: Grown Up Wrong

Also - What A Shame
- Everybody Needs Somebody
- Down The Road Apiece (some fierce Keith guitar work)

Never liked the organ version of Time Is On My Side.

But isn't the version on The Roling Stones No.2 the 'guitar version'? The organ version was the U.S. single and appeared on 12x5, I think.

No.2 was the first Stones record I bought. So the very first Stones song I ever
heard was the fantastic "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" in all it's 5:03 glory! It's a shame the Americans were deprived of this great version. I don't know if this version was released on the remastered CDs. Has it ever been available in the US?

I've just had a thought: I think The Rolling Stones No.2 may be the only U.K./U.S. Stones studio album that I dont own. Being of the CD generation, i had to make do with the London release.

I honestly think 'You Cant Catch Me' is one of the greatest records the Stones ever made.

Never performed live, either (unlike all the other Berry songs they covered, as far as I recall).

Would love to see it played on a b-stage someday.
