*I have the impression that some people here can never be satisfied, regardless of what you offer them. If they would release all shows ever in superb soundboard quality they would still find something to criticize... * - agreed!! as far as a live act, the Stones still fill stadiums, no matter that they are approaching their 70th birthdays. over the last 50 years they've perfected the ar

*OK you don't care. So just sit there and be happy. Us others are having a discussion cos we are interested.* (eric snow) - yep, I don't really care when it comes to all this arguing and assessing about what gig was 'better,' what tour was 'better,' who is 'better' Ronnie or MT, none of it matters. its all subjective. one guy's worst gig or song v

-I'm still trying to see if he's wrong or right : getting shows, listening to them, comparing them, etc etc.- * if ya got nuthin else or better to do, I guess. whatever turns your crank. of course some gigs are better than others. I don't really care, I am just happy to hear what I get.

I agree with Keith on this one. ya, Prince (or whatever he calls himself these days or whatever stupid unpronounceable symbol he uses) can play a zillion instruments; whatever; he's not a blues player or blues musician. generally, I am repulsed by anybody that uses 'words' like 'U' (you) and '2' (two) in a song title. just use the real goddamn words already. i&#

*The Satellites guitarist was in Izzy Stradlin & The Ju JU Hounds. They were one helluva band. The first Dan Baird solo album was terrific too. The second, not so much.* --------------- - The guitarist in Izzy's band from the Satellites is Rick Richards; he's still with Izzy. That band has numerous great records out, available online only I think. Baird's second record

*This is a real Jimmy Page like guitar hero solo, something like the solo at the end of Stairway To Heaven. Keith wasn't/isn't that kind of player.* - huh? it doesn't sound anything like the Stairway solo. Of course this is Keith playing it. only keith plays solos (other than the Chuck Berry double stop kind) with a sting like that. the album (Beggars) credits Richards on elec

I'm from the Ontario / Michigan border area, Bob Seger was a 'name' to the local area far before he went 'mainstream.' I've always loved the song 'Rosalie' from Bob's 'Back in '72 album.' (Thin Lizzy covered it, later) which was about Rosalie Trombley. People in the Detroit/Windsor area and beyond were familiar with radio station CKLW ou

KR is on the right and MT on the left with headphones on, on the one I downloaded. Seems like all is well in the world to me . I do agree MT is a little lower in the mix. Charlie's drums have reverb or something, which is a little weird, and takes some getting used to.

Angie is a great song. The GHS version is great, so is the Brussels one. (just differently played and arranged). The suspended chords on GHS give it that certain dreary feeling, the G-sus and F-sus. I've always liked that sound in the song. I don't know technically what a suspended chord is or means, but I know they sound good at certain times; you only need ears for that, not technical

The Irishman was feeling a bit bad that he hadn't been to confession in 25 years, so off he went to the church. He entered the cubicle and looked around, surprised to see a counter with the finest crystal decanters containing Irish whiskey, Guinness on tap, and a shelf holding the finest Cuban cigars. Helping himself to a pint of Guinness and a Cuban, as he lit the cigar he couldn't hel

JJF is undeniably one of, if not if, the greatest stones song ever but they have lots of great songs, man you can play it in standard, open E, or open G (that I know of) open G sounds best to my ears i think that stupid whoopie goldberg movie said it was in B flat its not the studio version has that fabulous, classic opening B-E-A for some reason they cut that out, live

Better? I don't see how you can compare the two or declare one is 'better' than the other; they are different and each have their own merits/shortcomings. They are both great in their own signature way.
