I had posted this previously but - The total number of posters who have had this problem is probably just a fraction of the big picture. Should be interesting to see to what degree of chaos ensues as a result of this incompetence. Best wishes to all for a great day!

Quoteflacnvinyl QuoteBärs I think that Glastonbury was the gig when Darryl Jones finally understood how to play with the Stones. Better late than never.. His playing on 2000 Light Years is PERFECT. Much better than Steel Wheels, even with Mick singing off key for the first part.. Btw that was an in-ear monitor issue. He couldn't hear himself. He lays down a nice groove in "Ramber&qu

This band just seems so much better than the one in "Shine A Light", which I don't really care for, personally. I love what I've seen/heard of the Glastonbury show (those weren't models down front this time). The Chicago show which is on Hot Stuff is quite good also. All that's left is for them to consumate this rebirth with a really good CD of new original material

Well, if we had the Internet in '69, '72, '75,'78 etc. there would be a LOT of setlist whining, as they played pretty much the same set every night. Everything was the same, right down to when Mick would jump on the giant phallus, etc. Only difference is a lot of the stuff was fresh.

Sucks that we blew our ratio for nothing.

I wonder how many this has happened to. We only know about the posters here. The conspiracy theorist in me speculates that this was done purposely to avoid a stampede.

I'm a hardcore fan and I was at Barclay's in relatively great seats and I think they have come a long way since then. (We also didn't get Taylor at that show, which kinda sucked.) I've compared the PPV show with the BBC footage and to me they have definitely upped their game, which is to be expected. Seeing them in the Pit every show would no doubt give one a skewed perspect

Quotesjs12 Me too. + a documentary about their appearance including rehearsal fottage etc. Also would be sweet if there was footage of the first meeting when Mick laid down the law and basically told them "We can make a ton of money but we do it my way." Maybe also the Keith apology footage. Also Taylor on the treadmill. And maybe some club gig footage.

Mick made a similar remark on the pay-per-view about looking better on small screens and not-so-good on big screens. Quotewaterrats I don't know if this has been posted already, but I just stumbled over a review of Philly-2 by Cindy Drue from examiner.com She criticises the video operator for showing band members faces in close-ups! That's a torture! Why? Because they are O-L-D!

Thanks for the heads up. I saw Paul at Barclay's last week. Really great show. I had some boots from prior shows and Paul pretty much does the same exact show each night, including the witty banter. Such a great talent. I was close so I got to watch his bass technique, which is quite something. Here's a link to the Colbert show:

24FPS, wish I thought like you back in the day. Keith is the Real Deal, for better or worse. He also had a very positive effect on me, in that he taught me to 'kick authority in the teeth with both feet". At the end of the day, I'm a better person for my initial adolescent idol worship and subsequent later study of the Cool of Keith.

My feeling is that the "ghosts" have only themselves to blame for failing fatally at whatever Keith habit they attempted to emulate. Keith said of Chuck Berry, "If not for him, I might have been an accountant. Probably be better off!" I can say for myself that I stupidly fell for the hype when I was 15. If Keith shot dope, that was good enough for me. I bought a Dan Armstr

Quote71Tele The last club tour Paul did was amazing. Two-guitar/bass/drums line-up, and he did a bunch of Mats stuff. Really incredible. I agree. As I stated previously, I went to both Supper Club shows (I think the second was the better of the two) and really enjoyed them. Paul is a strange guy. He tore up his guitarist's "cheat sheet" with all the chords and pulled out a kni

His legendary quote is that his problem was with policemen, not drugs. So he apparently feels that drugs aren't that big a deal, at least for him. He has also said that his kids ask him for weed. Yes, people like Jimmy Miller crashed and burned trying to keep up but that's not his fault. He's just being honest and typically loquacious.

Interesting that he says he quit heroin because otherwise he'd be doing hard time. Not that it was having a negative impact on him as a human being. Likewise coke. He gave it up because he injured his brain. Had those events not occured, one has to wonder if he would have changed his ways anyway. In any event, thanks for posting this. Glad Keith is still around.

Quotegreenriver 20 years after Main Offender we know (except for Hurricane) only 1 solo song written by Keith and truly the song is bullshit, just the same intro and tralalala... Bad song because when you hear Mick singing, immediatley in your mind you try to put Keith voice and it should be better. Better because it's Keith style but that stays a bad song, nothing new! If Keith sang &q

I'm a big Hitchins fan. I prefer the audio books because he has such a great speaking voice. Just finished "Mortality", in which he basically takes you through his final days with his usual eloquence (this was not read by the author, for obvious reasons). Ironic that he stated at the beginning of his memoirs "Hitch 22" that one of the reasons he wrote it was because he

New book from Ray in October: Americana: The Kinks, the Riff, the Road: A Memoir "As a boy in post-War England, legendary Kinks' singer/songwriter Ray Davies fell in love with America—its movies and music, its culture of freedom, fed his imagination. Then, as part of the British Invasion, he toured the US with the Kinks during one of the most tumultuous eras in recent history—until

Quote69firebird I am going to see Dave Davies Friday night.I am looking forward to seeing him again, and haven't seen him since his stroke. I saw Dave at a (packed) free show he did in City Winery's parking lot this past Tuesday. I left after 4 songs. The best I can say is that he is still alive and able to play the guitar, an ability he lost after the stroke. He also did 3 nights
